Author Topic: GUM Clinic certificates  (Read 2470 times)

I've seen a number of WGs with pictures of bareback saying they do not offer bareback, but perform with regulars on camera who have the certificate? Has to be bullshit, right? I'm trying to figure out if WGs, with bareback pics actually have one.

Does anyone know how much one costs? Has anyone had one done?

You get tested for free at the local sexual health clinic, they've never given me a certificate, in Manchester you call about a week later to an automated system which gives you the results.  Maybe they would do a certificate if asked? Maybe people working in the adult industry go private and they give you a certificate? Who knows, but even if you have got a certificate, it only validates you for that moment in time

i dont know but it is bullshit,  the girls might be doing it with a partner or close friend , either way there asking for trouble , also people in the porn industry have tested positive for AIDS so just goes to show how dangerous bareback is , especially with a working girl, there was some frightening  nasty shit on ukp about bug chasing , it gave me nightmares

You can get results sent by text too.

Online Jimmyredcab

Even if they did issue a certificate it would only be valid for that day ------------ or until you have any sexual activity.

That's a response often used by pro$$ies to cover the fact they are unable to produce a certificate despite claims they have regular checks, some time ago on here a pro$$ie lectured about GUM clinics etc and it later transpired that she didn't even know where her clinic was, nor that they provided free condoms to sex workers, just confirming she had made it all up  :hi:

I go to The Praed Street project .....its mostly for sex workers male and female and they dont talk down to us like the local clinics do, and they check our mouths too which my local clinic doesn't ...
i just get the text sent as im not having to prove it to anyone but myself
.... but if you get the certificate then you have to pay for it (cant remember how much) but like Jimmy said its not worth the paper its written on.... anyway does anyone know what one looks like,  they could just make one up themselves on a computer ......(she says knowing what James and gang are about to say to me)
its good to see that some of you guys get tested too....

I've never been given a certificate. I just get a text between 7-14 days later confirming all your tests came back negative or you need to call us to make an appointment if otherwise.

Thanks for the responses. I think this thread has pretty much confirmed that webcammers and bareback picture sellers (male and female) who claim to have STD free certificates are made-up.  I'm not doubting for a second the majority of WGs are tested regularly, just that very few (bar the pornstar ones) actually have it on paper.

I do get regularly tested, depending on how much sex I have and opt for the phone call option, rather than text, in-case I get any bad news I would rather hear a human voice.

I would be interested to know the cost of a certificate. I think if some are so tight they're not willing to shell out for condoms (like on a  AW profile I read recently) it's unlikely they would pay for the certificate.

I also agree that the paper certificate is worthless and offers no guarantees. Also, I doubt many would show something with their real name on (male or female); there was an AW WG who claimed you could look at her certificate - more nonsense.

The other problem as well is that HIV tests have to be repeated after 3 months so pretty useless really.

A bit like massage qualification certificates that some frame and put on the wall  :scare:

A good place to get a check up which will not appear on any public records and which will send you the results in a printable attachment are the clinics of Doctor Today. I thought that they have more clinics but Google only brings up this one. Useful for other tests like cholesterol or sugars also. HIV test results quite quickly. I am neutral about the value of the certificates but having a test form time to time is essential if you indulge our hobby.

Thanks the certificates seem to be around the £100 mark. I can't imagine many punters paying that just appear on webcam with a WG.

Another way to tackle this for cheaper is if you can get tested via your GP. They will have the results scanned to their system for your Doctor to read out to you in a subsequent appointment. You can ask for a print out of the results under the Data Protection Act.

It will under the policy take 28 days and cost £10 though. But if you get along with your GP practice you can just ask them for a printout of that one sheet and the receptionist may do it. (they have in the past given me printout of result pages / letters etc for free there and then)

Certificates are unusual these days.  Results are normally sent via text.

But then you can't lie to insurance companies about being tested. You can be anonymous at a GUM clinic.

Now that is a very good point!
