Ive been to this place a few times. First time was with a client i was very friendly with. We went in as a couple hoping there may have been other horny M/F cpls or even some single females. Wishful thinking. We were very dissapointed. Its a tacky seedy joint, but thats part of its naughty appeal. Its also the only cinema of its kind in the North.

So our evening out.....The guy on the desk/sex shop is friendly enough and he shows you around quickly after completing a membership form. He also gives you a quick run down of the rules. Eg - the "private room" - you can go in and lock door from within if not already in use. We went into the main cinema which was playing a porno at least 15yrs out of date ( hairy pussys and chest wigs galore). Within 2mins  of being inside this room we were surrounded by men who were all over me , too overwhelming.

We locked ourselves in the private room and laughed at the weirdness of the situation. No females . No couples. Just lots of men in bad wigs and make up wanking and playing with each other. It was obvious that a female being in the cinema is a rarity and these guys will surround you. Obviously they assume that any female coming in is up for play. In our naievity we didnt plan for that. We had a quick play in the private room , couldnt stop giggling. The faux leather sofa in there is very sticky and the bin full of crusty tissues adds to the dirty seedy vibe. On coming out of the private room we had a group of 5 cross dressed men laying in wait , hoping to be invited in.

We made a hasty exit and ran off laughing into the saftey of the nearby weatherspoons, laughing like a pair of schoolchildren all the way.

If your a female or couple into greedy girl/gangbangs etc, or a bi/bi-curious male looking for a quick hook up, you will love it. Straight men or M/F cpls looking for females? Forget it. Im a girl who can handle myself but even i found the pushy groups of men very intimidating. If your wanting fun as a MF cpl, swingers clubs would be better.

Yes they still have strippers on (as does Rickys bar hudds), but ive no idea if extras are on offer.

Ps- the on site sex shop at the cinema is very handy if your in the area and need some late night adult toys

If its closed down then thats a shame. Even though it wasnt my cup of tea, I liked the fact that it had managed to stay in business in this day and age.  It was a relic of times past , pre DVD/internet porn and it was the only one of its kind in the north.

And the late night sex shop was very handy. Yes, its a shame if its shut down. I will google it up and see.

I am afraid that like coal mining, steel production and British owned car manufacturers, striptease is a thing of the past.

Turn back the clock thirty or so years and almost every working mens club and Miners Welfare had their Sunday Lunch exotic dancers. Twenty years ago Sheffield had a pub scene such as the Dog and Partridge, Ma Bakers and Plumpers.   But just as in The Full Monty , a relic of the disintegration of the working class, all strip pubs and their ilk have disappeared since then. There are a few left in run down areas of London but even these are fast disappearing. I don't think that you'll find anyone on here that can point out where the strippers have vanished to.

The reasons are as outlined above; the striptease pub has disappeared just as quickly as the blast furnaces of Tees-side and a great deal more quietly. Their replacements are lapddancing or so-called gentlemen's clubs - where "suits" - ie the upper/middle class hoorah henries are expected to part with £000s to partake in a private dance where touching is discouraged or not allowed. The final nail in the coffin of course was Harriet Harman's regulation of Sexual Entertainment venues via Section 27 of the Policing & Crime Act of 2009 which required all premises offering such entertainment to be licensed by the local authority.  This effectively meant that local busybodies and pressure groups could object for the most spurious of reasons and that councils set themselves up as the moral guardians of the public. If anyone would like to research this on line you can see the policies of many councils who have decided that no striptease shall take place under their governance. So if you fancy, for example, setting up a venue in Nottingham and by some fluke manage to get it by the sub-committee be prepared to pay the annual fee of £13,840!
