Author Topic: Use the reviews section properly  (Read 5349 times)

Offline NIK

There seems to be an increasing number of new members making posts in the reviews sections which are not reviews.
Please read the board rules and stop doing this. The reviews boards are for reviews only. It isn't difficult to post in the correct sections.

Offline NIK

Bumped this back up again because newbies are STILL getting it wrong!  :dash:
Reviews section are for reviews only, not for enquiries!
It's hardly rocket science.

Offline Poopster

Could you or admin arrange for this to go in a welcome email or something?  Maybe an automatic PM on validation of membership?

I know, I know, no cunt reads them, but it might weed a few out.

Offline NIK

They are STILL doing it.    :dash:    What is it with this recently?

It might also help if people looked at the reported post section before reporting a post so that a post is not reported many times. I often see four or five people report a post for not being a review where I am sure one report would do instead of admin having to check five or six reports to find them all the same
It's different if it is something very serious such as the odd Twat who posts about violence to prossies or underage girls etc  just to try and make the site look bad as I would then expect a good few reports to be put it to ensure its not missed but that is very different to 'not a review' or ' racist' (I'm starting to hate the way that word is used on here).

Yes, as you can see I have commented on there about my views on the way that section seems to be going recently.

It might help Admin and Nik if there was a title section, you could filter out the crap then

Is this a mass invasion of Trolls?

Certain age groups that can't read or who can't understand categories?

Me too hence my post above.  I'm having a blonde moment

And, for goodness sake, put the location in the title!!!

Offline NIK

And yet another post for a request for info in the review section. I am sick of moving such posts and Admin certainly has enough to do without this.
Consequently instead of moving the post I have deleted it and banned the poster. This will be my policy from now on for people who can't use the board properly and ignore sticky messages.

Are there a group of people on here that are newbie doing this for a laugh?

Maybe posting reviews should have a similar layout to filling forms online.
Have a few fields:
Name of Escort
Location
Rating

Escort Link: (this will automatically be added to the review and makes sure the reviewer won't forget to add one)

Review: (actual review)

Then when it's submitted if a field wasn't entered it takes you back to the field which is now marked in red for you to fill.
If everything is filled correctly, a final message pops up asking if you have filled everything correctly before submitting the review.

I honestly don't know if it's easy or feasible to incorporate into the review section but it would weed out the non-reviews and it will also improve reviews by making sure a link and location is added and hopefully have less "Look at me" reviews that have fluffy headlines.

I also don't know if it's possible but some girls change profiles regularly. Can there be an option to add a new link to an old review without deleting the old one? That would be helpful to track scammers and bad SP's as well as those who've had to start a new profile for some reason.

The only way to "make sure" is to have the form reject any submission without a link. Yet quite a few reviews justifiably lack links - mostly walkups or those where the AW profile is inactive, but others too.

How would that work out differently from someone commenting under a review with the new link, as The Don often does?

I thought of the rejection part because as you rightly stated are walkups or even ads from other sites such as vivastreet, gumtree or agencies. It's not filling it in that will be rejected, although there's no stopping reviewers writing in a girls name rather than linking it in.

The second link would work differently as a new link would automatically link the girls all reviews whereas at the moment commenting with a new link would only bring up the post if a search was made. Admittedly the idea is not 100% but it can be worked into it somehow. For example, Quesadilla's negative review on SummerSexy89 was in Feb last year. In August a new account had been created and I'm sure Q pm'd admin to have it added, so the new name + link was added to the review 6 months later. That's the only example I have seen and know of, and admin wouldn't be able to cope if everyone started requesting links to be added to old reviews whenever a WG starts a new profile. It would also save punters some cash when they don't find a girl reviewed and visit her when in fact she could be a terrible SP that thought if she closed and opened a new profile she would get more business. The Don does a great job but not everyone updates their reviews like he does. This option may encourage others to do so.

Yes, I've just been reading on another thread about the way the system works WRT reviews and links. Apologies, I wasn't up to speed.

One aspect that concerns me is when a review turns into a debate!

I will use one of my reports as an example but there are plenty others.

https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=83159.0

I believe the review was accurate but onother member raised a query;

"...Seen her those photos are very flattering, not a bad looking girl, but a fairly big unit was at least size 14 unless she lost a fair bit of weight..."

"...I seen her last year, her arse is a lot bigger than in the photos, a LOT bigger..."

I can understand querying a review but I wonder why the poster had not posted a review of his visit, instead of questioning aspects of mine?

Surely that would be more valid.

Note:  I'm not taking issue or having a go at the poster, just querying what might be a better method of highlighting discrepancies.

Reviews are :scare: to me, have to write so much and include loads of detail. haven't written as much as some reviews in my whole life  :( ;)

No you really don't.
You can write War and Peace if you have a mind too but most here just want the basics and may ask for anything else specific to their needs later.
Even a very short review with those basics covered is far better than no review at all.
We are here to help inform one another after all! :hi:

Indeed. A review should give enough info to allow another punter to contact her IMHO or, in the case of brothels, FKKs, o/s RLDs and the like, enough info for another punter to locate the sort of punt referred to.

I do think self-vigilance is the way to go rather than having automated censorship of nonentity 'reviews.'
If someone posts a 'review' that isn't a review, it's easy enough for someone else to report it and have it moved to the discussion area.
Sometimes a newbie posts a review of an AW prossie but adds "don't know how to post a link", which is a bit dumb but easy enough corrected (and usually is, by another poster).
The old crapshit prossie-run cuntsite (that UKP was invented to replace) made it so hard to post a review and even if you fulfilled the requirements it could get deleted for some reason by a mod (ie a prossie didn't like it). UKP is a low-moderation site and I hope it stays that way.

One aspect that concerns me is when a review turns into a debate!

+1 annoying as fuck. Reviews should be rubbished by other posters if they are clearly whiteknight fluffyknob shite, not for reasons of "eeew I think you're being unfair to the laydee" :vomit:
The best thing is to have as many reviews as possible of each prossie, then take your pick!
