Ive been to Sandys many times and think its a great place, but I think their success could lead to their downfall. They have never been happy with what they had, from 1 branch to two then the addition of flats. They had a lot of competition from NG until that shut due to police action. If Sandys were a bit more discrete I suppose they might not get so much bad publicity and attention from the residents and this guy doing the photography.
They have 50 + girls on the books with many of their girls working in Stoke on Trent and elsewhere to get extra shifts in as its a management rule that they cant work anywhere else in Manc. Ive always found it spooky that a new girl will have a glowing FR from a first time poster on Prossie Natter within the week, its been discussed on the forum and they got the nod from Galahad that there was no underhand reporting. We all know how easy it is to get a hotmail addy and register within 5 minutes and you are pumping out Frs.
This post may seem bitter and twisted but Im not. Ive had many great punts there, I just think they should stop and have a look at themselves before proceeding with world domination. You can get too big for your own good and draw unwanted attention. You dont hear of any of the other many Manc parlours getting targeted.
Except the Manchester area or not far away within the GMP area places that have recently been raided of course.
I agree that getting publicity as Sandys does is a double-edged sword, on the one hand it ensures punters are aware of them, but that can and has in their case led to this residents group and this religious nutter targeting them. I think its now only just a matter of time before they get raided and closed down.
Having a business thats wholly illegal and built on straw is a precarious place to be, rather them than me.
It also illustrates the difference at least at the moment between the Manchester area and Milton Keynes where i havent read or been told of any police activity in raiding the establishments their many of whom are quite well known, and the London scene where not a lot has happened apart from a purge in the Olympic boroughs.
