TLDR; there is NO safe way to do breath play, even if you know what you're doing.  Putting any pressure on the neck (esp the carotid sinus bodies) can set off a whole cascade of physiological responses which end in a heart attack, sometimes in as little as 5 seconds.  It's why choke restraints have been banned for many law enforcement agencies. Think you maybe misunderstand...

Facesitting would not achieve same. That might be like suffocation in the sense of not being able to breath so you'd know what was happening. This is definitely not my bag and I did experiment with it years ago. IMO its something to ensure you have trust in the other person and they trust you, not something I could have with a WG. Also be safe, some people have died accidentally doing this stuff as you know.
