Being a student is not an excuse. If you really want to increase the amount you can spend on your "extracurricular activities" you can cut down on your other spending (alcohol, clubbing, etc). If you truly cannot afford punting right now, may be this isn't for you just yet.

 I really wouldn't advise spending your money on punting with your financial situation, if pulling isn't an option I would stick to porn. However, if you are intent on punting have a read of reviews and  you might find some A/W WGs offering half hour for £40.

Recent grad reporting in, it's probably best to skip punting until you land a good job in London, by good I mean enough to pay your bills and spare cash on the side.

With respect aimen I suggest you hang on in there and direct your effort at dating civilians. Punting is an expensive hobby by any normal standard and certainly WELL out the price range of any student who does not have stupidly wealthy parents behind them. In addition, your student years are going to be the very best opportunity for you to meet someone for life.  I say that with the experience of not meeting the right person as a student and spending a difficult 10 years trying to get in a relationship in my 30's before eventually getting married.  In my opinion. Punting is an expensive distraction you are best avoiding right now.

He clearly wants some quality as he finds the soho scene unappealing in general, if he can't spare money for the punts he would enjoy then he simply cannot afford his version of punting. The best advice anyone would reasonably give him is to not let him bankrupt himself right now while he is still studying and wait until he gets a job to support this expensive lifestyle.
