Regarding bookings apartments. Airbnb is most of the time a bit cheaper than booking.com and if you send the host a message you can normally make a much better deal!....
And the above guy is right. 15 pounds for steak is about right. I ate a few times at the Mexican food place in Senegambia and these prices will definitely be higher (el sol)... But again food budget is depending on where you eat and you can get your stomach full for as little as 3 to 4 pounds if you look around...
If you don't want to travel around so much then 1 week will be enough. You can definitely see most the sights in 1 week anyway.... Unless you want a overnight trip to the lion park.... Most sightseeing things are very cheap too. A few pounds to do the crocodile park and monkey park. The snake farm is a fair bit away though so expect to pay a higher taxi fee...
Remember to change money in Senegambia though. Airport will give you 3 to 5 dalasi less per pound... After this get a Gambian SIM at the airport I recommend qcell and download an app called 1bena. This is basically a combined Uber and food/grocery delivery app. Very useful and you can see the taxi fees before you travel.
Also ... It's been said on this thread a few times. Try and tip a little ... It makes a big difference to people over there. A few pounds is what they could be paid for 2 to 3 days work... I prefer to do this to individual staff rather than leaving it at the bar ect.
And regarding the passport expiry thing. It says it must be valid but your right it doesn't say 3 months.... I would check with someone before you book though
