Ok my last two bits on kenya in this thread flight I seen for 450 from London in November with one of the Arab carriers. Diani beach is more for beach holiday and the nialy one more nightlife and girls I had the feeling when been there.

Just start a Kenya thread already.

November and a new season in Gambia is fast approaching - i have been pondering over Gambia for a couple of years but opted for Thailand instead but this year, i am going to try Gambia.

so i am thinking of a Tui flight in their second week of the season (ie about 12th November) for a week. So as a first timer to Gambia, can anyone recommend a good hotel please - close to the action and beach with good facilities and comfort - and of course guest friendly. I would rather pay a bit more for a good place rather than a budget place.
Thanks for any personal recommendations.

Lot`s of good reccomendation`s on the thread, spend a little time researching the comment`s,lot`s of good advice.

Offline stampjones

I stayed at Palma Rima last year (only trip so far). I booked a double room so was ok to bring girls back. Paid extra for aircon & safe. Not cheap but not stupidly expensive. Palma rima strip is a 10 minute taxi ride from senegambia (main action) so easy to get to/from. The beach at the bottom of the palma rima strip is my favourite and imo best for picking up at. I liked it because it was close enough to join in the fun but far enough away to be a bit quieter. Facilities were good. Great pool which was always empty.

No hotel is guest friendly. Try easytime lodge or seabreaze apts

Offline toon972

Forest View apts is right on the strip and 5 minute walk to beach. Only problem is it could be noisy for sleep. Regal apts is another decent place to stay 5 minute taxi to strip, 5 minute walk to Palm Rima road and 10 minute walk to beach. Yes Easytime Lodge is another decent place to stay, 10 minute walk to strip and 20 minute walk to beach. You need email address to book there though. I have heard good things about Avalon Garden Lodge but never stayed there.

Offline Houngan

Forest view, mica apartments, kololi sands, aquaview apartments... There the nicer apartments. location is good for all of them.

No issues with guests for me at bamboo village but I did always give the security drinks and stuff..... Not sure if it helped. They did ask for ID a couple of times..... But just passed it back rather than held onto it (age check I'm guessing).

I have stayed at the other bamboo too a couple nights, palma rima a couple nights too and not had issues just walking past with a girl. I did book double occupancy though always.

Also... Metzy and balafon are definitely not guest friendly. IDs will be checked and nobody is allowed to your room unless they are staying there permanently at balafon.... Which is a shame as it's a nice hotel to hang around at. Metzy the reception even stopped the girl I was with on the 3rd day even though she had been there multiple times.

My advice is to get an apartment if budget allows.... The hotels don't offer much apart from a free breakfast and I'd rather just have a wander to GTS...

As usual the standard advice from the rest of the thread. Do your research regarding your location and the walking routes. You don't want to look lost as you will get too much attention and also whilst I've never felt unsafe at night there I have multiple times heard of people getting there phone grabbed out of there hands ect.... If you want the easiest possible experience forest view is the one to go for.... It's location just makes everything easy.... Kololi sands is amazing too but can be pricey.

Obviously I don't really care about if you know where I've stopped at there.... However if you go onto the forest view apartments own website you can see the interiors of every apartment almost. To be honest as long as it looks nice you won't have any issues there. I find the staff there was amazing and most the bookings I've made in Gambia the hosts are very helpful.... If it helps however I've stayed in 2 apartments there and both was good. One was a studio type apartment with the bed and living room in the same space and the other had 1 separate bedroom. Both was cleaned every 2 days by the on site cleaners and the security ect had zero issues with visitors.

Please do not assume and be nice. I dare not risk punting at all in the UK, I have too much to lose and there really is no value here compared with Africa and the FE. If I do not partake then I cannot review.  Appreciate there may be rules but nothing to report right now.

I'm intrigued with your exploits in Africa & the FE so perhaps you can share
There is 'Punting Abroad' [PA] to do reviews
Including adding intel to threads posted by other UKPers
Which you've picked up on your [i presume extensive & not forgetting good value] travels
You did reference please, which is nice
There is of course no time limit [c.f 6 months on reviews since said event occurred {you're probably ok on 7-8 months 'mums the word'  ;) }] to reply on existing threads on PA
Posting whatever value added you can, good luck

It’s my job to assume and question members, I’m a moderator here.

Two points, you don’t seem to have reviewed anyone you’ve met in Africa, only asked questions. This is a UK punting forum, maybe this isn’t the site for you, the off topics are a bonus to members.

Today’s rate D91 to £

Inflation is running wild out here, all bars and restaurants prices are now 25% higher, since May.
Eg beer was D100 now D125
Cake from Kings bakery was D60 now D100

That’s not bad for the exchange rate, a thought the prices would have increased because of the new road and stuff like that. Are you there now mate?

Offline Houngan

Not good..I was thinking about going out there for 4 to 5 weeks too....

King baker was one of my go to places too for snacks. 25 percent higher is a big increase too as it was 86 last time I was out there in senegambia making it around 20 to 21 percent increase in practice....

Saying that it's not stupid but over 4 to 5 weeks it will definitely add up as I normally aren't alone... Last time I averaged 300 per week spending (not including hotels or flights). So it's basically an extra 65 quid or so a week.... Accommodation also seems to have increased looking at Airbnb and booking.com too (at the higher end apartments). Most are wanting 800 to 1k a week for kololi sands for example.

Ah the wonderful NLG :sarcastic: But I want it known I never did sample her wares! Mind you she did try to lure me into her parlour everyday. She’d invariably turn up for duty full of hellos around the same time as I was finishing brecky. Later in the morning I’d take up my place pool side and she’d sashay over at some point to try tempt me by standing over me on my sun beddirecting her mahoosive jugs in my face. They created a solar eclipse. If she stood there for long I’d need to reach for my towel to cover up as I’d start to feel the chill . Think she did alright the weeks I was there despite me not agreeing to a go on her bouncy castles…..there was one fella that was proper hooked on her charms! He made many a return visit! Ah, happy mamories

How much do they charge?

I paid 1,500 Dalasi for one in a hut just off the beach last year - so less than £20.

Can't remember if any massage places in the town were open late.

Beach massage at some places is 800 to 1000. I got offered many but I didn't take any offers up for massage. Whenever I went to the beach I almost always had a girl with me otherwise I got hassled too much and it was kinda annoying.... But the price was around 1k for them places.

Young & large cock

I saw this for myself when in TG forever ago
I had the trailer-in-tow & she spotted this a mile off

The dynamic was that blokes would be out on the hunt in the evening going on later
And women would be more likely to be out in the afternoon / early evening
Me & the trailer would see them, more likely to be in pairs than solo, often entertaining their prey over a late lunch early evening meal in the hotels & restaurants
Better feed them give them some energy with application of alcohol to get things going
Several of the women entertaining must have been lookers back in the day
Knock ten years off & i probably would  :D

Offline Malvolio

I saw plenty in the bars and restaurants on the strip.  Fair play to those women - you only get one life so you might as well enjoy yourself.

it does say that "some women were aware they were being filmed" - implying some/many were not aware. If he did it without their explicit knowledge and agreement, then he is "scum" in my view and deserved whatever he got"

Offline Houngan

From experience. They would be aware....

What they say and what really happened is very different. Making pornography is illegal in Gambia even with consent so I would imagine if the police spoke to a girl she would say she wasn't aware to not get in trouble.. even if she knew.

With that being said. I only recorded with 2 girls because of this exact reason and even then It was after we had met a few times and I made sure anything that could identify them was never on the camera. With this post being highlighted and posted on what's on Gambia however I won't be doing that again in Gambia..... I can almost guaranteed the case wasn't just "dropped" there would have been a cash payment to someone.

Having read this whole thread many times over the past few months, I am finally here. Thanks to all the gents who provided the info and inspiration for me to make the trip.

I've been Thailand many times but first time in Africa and let me just say, Dorothy, we're not in Kanasa anymore  :D Being dropped off on the strip at 2am on a Saturday night (I landed at 1am) was a wild experience. All good tho. Everyone is sound but fuck I musta been like a rabbit in the head lights.

Went to bed solo that first night as I was too shattered/getting my bearings.

Day two. I went out for some food on the strip. Sat on my own and caught the eye of a gorgeous woman walking on the pavement. I'm not sure who caught who's eyes tbh. These girls are f'in pro and I feel well out of my league but it's all good  . Everyone is friendly with it. She asks if she can join. I say sure - she has an ass you could rest a pint of beer on. Unreal.

We have some food and agree to go back to my apartment. What ensued was a fantastic couple hours of fucking. Huge lips, huge ass, tiny waist, short spikey afro hair after she took off her wig which I fucking love.

Today I am chilling but have a number for a waitress I got last night from GTS.

Cannot thank all the legends that came before enough for posting.

So.... I realised today I had free time between the end of next week and the 23rd of December. Quickly rushed to the TUI website to try book Gambia for 2 weeks as it would be cheap for me as I normally bring back a lot of tobacco and sell it in bulk for 15 a packet (it's a fiver a pack in airport)... So flights would be free basically.

Then..... The flights have bloody sold out from the 8th to the 22nd. Basically the only days I could get free.... Bit peeved but didn't get notice from work until this morning....

One thing I forget to mention. For those of you what smoke (I don't). I would advise against buying sleeves of cigarettes at the stores there... It's more expensive than the airport leaving and also it is not good quality and smells totally different... For those that do smoke my last trip cigs at the airport was 1100 dalasi for 200 Marlborough red and golden virginia was the equivalent of 50 quid for a 10 pack of 50g.... Again I know this isn't relevant for punting but just general advice for if you want to bring some home.

I've not stayed there but have been inside to look around and had a tour the second time I went to Gambia.

The location is good. But the rooms looked very basic and I saw 2 different rooms and one definitely didn't have air conditioning and they said a fan was available if needed... Also the grounds and pool area looked like they wasn't taken care of really as well they could be.... It's rated as a 2 star and in Gambia 2 star isn't very good as you can imagine.

But... As this is a punting forum and specifically about women. I can tell you I have no idea about what there guest policy is (if your booking a package holiday your booking for a single person and as such a single person accommodation. So you would probably be charged more....

You would probably be better getting the flights and looking at other hotels and booking a double occupancy... There's places recommended on this thread... Everyone is different but I would recommend atleast air conditioning. January can hit 33 to 34c and it gets hot early in the day.

But yes just make sure your aware that a package holiday your booking for a single occupancy too and some hotels will want extra payments.

This thread has been unusually quiet for its high season - anyone been this season ?

Offline Houngan

Unfortunately I haven't been because the flights for tickets gave been double almost of last year unless you go through TUI. Unfortunately with TUI most the time it's limited to a 2 weeks trip and for me atleast 2 weeks isn't an option so I've been working a lot and have saved up around 18k for holidays with benefits so far in a separate account to normal savings.... So I am planning to go but just refuse to pay double the amount of other country's....

For example from Belgium or Amsterdam return flights with TUI at 120 pounds and you can choose any date period. For UK it's 2 weeks only for most the season and triple or 4x that. If you want to go with royal air Maroc or Brussels it's currently over 800 and last year I never paid more than 450.... I can literally fly twice the distance to Zanzibar or Kenya for 60 percent of the price of Gambia.

Then there's the price of accommodation. I get a good rate at kololi sands for a month. I can get it around 1400 when the normal rate is above 2200 but even this is literally double of Kenya or Zanzibar or dar es salaam.... And then you have to take into account food and drink prices and supermarket prices being more expensive than even the UK in Gambia but if I fly to Zambia it's all less than half the price.... And girls are just as willing in all these places.

Unfortunately this is what's put me off Gambia for now. It's not because I can't afford it.... But principle....

Will i return? Sure ... Possibly in may when all the prices drop because the tourists go home, but even then I've been there a fair few times now and sometimes you do need a change of scenery.

Offline stampjones

I went out for a short trip. Went with tui for a week. Mainly went to see my girl from my last trip but I did play around also. Definitely quieter there than last year. Everyone was saying it. Time was busy but definitely not busting. Girls were the same as ever, open to some chat. Was a bit more difficult for me this time as I stupidly gave my gf a key to my appartment so I had to be a bit careful but did get a couple of meets plus a risky fuck in the massage sweatbox by the beach. Got more numbers than I knew what to do with though. Got accosted outside Time by two girls who offered to give me a show for 1500 each. Was tempted but too risky. I found it harder to get money from ATMs this time. There was a limit on my card for some reason and even then they only worked on one machine (the ones next to Time). Otherwise everything was the same (but quieter)
