Ha Ha, Banjul Belly.... I remember that so well about the same time, 30 years ago..... So bad that I had a reserved table as close to the outdoor toilets as possible at the Badala Park..... Hardly moved after day 4, just waved, Beer arrived, waved again, Menu, etc......
Yes, it is batter than than for sure, just not yet what most people expect.
My last trip there, November 2017, there was a group of 15 or so guys from Sheffield all on our Coach (again, not a Coach in the normal way of thinking) to the Hotel. They started bitching as soon as they got on when they found there was no A/C. We just made sure the windows were open and had already shed all but a T Shirt.
When they found out the the Hotel Rooms had no A/C plumbed in and it was available as an extra they were getting very loud. We tried to tell them that this was Africa and to ask for fans, until A/C units could be found. In the meantime just relax, check in and then have a Beer.
The Manager was happy we helped out. Anyway by day 3, none were still there, they had either taken a flight home, bitching at the Thomas Cook Rep, big time, while 2 went to a Mainstream Hotel somewhere nearer to Banjul, that had A/C....
