Hi all,

just a couple of questions I would like answering if possible.

1) I haven't had my hep a & b jabs and won't have time before I go as I am currently DJin in another country. Will I be ok obviously assuming I use a condom every time? has anyone else been to Thailand without them?

2) I'm going for a month and although I will be doing a little site seeing I am pretty much treating as a punting holiday. should I plan  to spend most of the month in Pattaya?

3) I have budgeted 3000baht a day. will this be enough to get a decent punt every night + food and drink. i only drink water I don't drink alcohol.

Many thanks

You don't need jabs, unless you plan on living in the jungle for months.

If it's a punting holiday spend most of your time in Patts. 3k a day is very low, what about accommodation? If you only eat western food you will pay more, in many popular gogo bars a bottle of water will be similar price to a beer, you may be able to barfine a beerbar girl LT for 1,500b plus BF 500, but some girls now insist on 2k, gogo girls can be expensive, and if it's your first visit they will probably hustle and chew you up, looking at 2k to 3k LT.
You say you're a DJ, so you will probably spend late nights in the clubs of Pattaya, drinks can be expensive, buy a bottle, but you will find some of the hottest girls in Patts, many sponsored up, and gogo dancers finished work will go to Insomnia.

Thanks for your reply.

3000baht a day was just my budget for girls and food and drink. I live on chicken wraps where I am working now as its so hot and really don't eat much in the heat.

I was thinking of booking an apartment from home away as the prices look decent and I assume I can take girls back to them without any problems ( i know some hotels charge you or won't allow girls )

Can i get a decent punt for 2-3k baht? may increase my budget per day a little bit.

Yea my body clock is set to 5-6am every night! Suppose thats what DJin 7 nights a week from April-Oct will do to you!

I am probably going to stay bangkok for 3-4 nights then spend rest in Pattaya?

Personally I wouldn't book a apartment before you arrive, as there are lots of ads using fake photos and generous descriptions. The clever money here book a hotel for a few days, then go hunt on foot for a apartment, though you're only staying a month I'd suggest just staying in a hotel, you are misinformed that hotels can give problems bringing girls back, this is Pattaya the biggest open brothel in the world! There are only a few non friendly hotels who are family orientated like Holiday inn, all budget and moderate range hotels will be girl friendly, reception will be surprised if you don't have a girl. I pay 600-1000b a night for a decent and clean aircon room with free wifi in room safe and shower, and there are numerous other rooms similar to this in Patts. When are you planning to visit? Try reading Pattaya Addicts forum for some good newbie advice.

I am going in November of a month. I was planning on taking 700 euro (29000 baht) for my accommodation. by going on what your saying this will be enough? any particular places you recommend?

Try booking on Agoda before you go,I stay at Peace resort in North Pattaya it Is close to the baht bus route so only 10 baht fare to walking street. Recommend eating at Pattaya beer garden near the entrance to walking street and also a good place for freelancers so no bar fine. There are some bars around peace resort and also on second road all within walking distance. Short baht bus ride to naughty Soi 6.

€700 for 30 days should be enough, that's about 900b a day x30, you can get decent rooms from 500b a night, I usually stay at Queen Victoria Inn on Soi 6, rooms from 600 to 900, or there are plenty of similar priced rooms, if I was you I'd book a room for a couple of nights, while you find a room that suits you, also remember if you rent a apartment you will be charged electric and water on top.
