Author Topic: How far do you travel for a decent punt (miles & time) ?  (Read 5175 times)

I'm in a bit of a punting desert so tend to mostly punt away from home to 'meet' a prossie that take's my fancy. I don't have a problem with punting locally but do like some variation and that simply isn't available nearby. I'm not in a backwoods by any means and have easy access to major trunk routes and motorways. Neither am I in London or a major city so IMO driving is the way to go as oppossed to using the tube for example which would mean time rather than mileage. I don't work away either so that doesn't open up any opportunities and I'm not inclined to do regular punting holidays.

I recently travelled about 80 or so miles which took over 2 hours each way and M25 roadworks nightmare in order to get together with a tasty young prossie that delivered exactly what I was after. Worth the effort IMO and something that I'd repeat. :) This was on my own time and as I said not a stop off whilst on business.

I've seen comment on Adultwork where a guy mentioned a 250 mile round trip which must have involved a great deal of time as well. I wonder how others feel about this? What sort of 'Punting Radius' do you have when for example using Adultwork and how much time or miles have you given up for that 'decent' punt.

30 minutes each way max.

Pretty much the same as Jacob. I travelled 80 miles each way yesterday to visit my favourite girl for a 2 hour incall, and if she moved even further away, I'd get there somehow.
My usual punting radius tends to be around 40 miles and I'm usually guaranteed a good punt, but there's not many genuine girls until I get at least 30 miles from home.

I am reliably told that some people travel thousands of miles to far away places like Thailand and South America, spending often in excess of three thousand pounds seeking wgs that love them loads.

Offline cunnyhunt

Sometimes I travel with work, which is helpful although it does mean that I can have a higher ratio of bad punts as I cannot always spend time researching.

Same here I do some business travel so it can be a few hundred miles if I've got to stay over rather than travel back the same day. As has Been said before where I live in Essex is a bit of a desert so I'll do most punts in London so around 35 miles and an hours travel each way.

Offline Simple

When I started my punting comfort zone was roughly 5 miles or an hour each way maximum. However, it has increased since seeing a particular prossie located around 15 miles as well as over an hour away that I wanted to visit for awhile. Now my punting radius is about 10 miles obviously increasing the amount of lovely prossies available...

On the flip side, I'm travelling all the way to Glasgow towards the end of the month and am always on the move.  I prefer where possible not to work at home or in my home City.  I think Glasgow is about an 8 hour drive one way.

Ten minutes walk. Sure I like to travel - to interesting countries. I don't go especially to punt - just nice that facilities are available should the need arise. ;)

Yes, I most certainly do ---------------- however I am not so stupid as to think they love me long time, in fact I am in the far east right now.

I also am in a bit of a blackspot in terms of WGs, but would if time allows be willing to travel 1-2 hours to see a WG, depends wouldn't travel further than that though, and i doubt i would visit Thailand again just to visit WGs unless i was already over there then it would be a different matter!!

Was thinking of a long weekend in amsterdam soon, really cheap to get there on eurostar and get to visit a few coffee shops while over there!

I travel for work, so it's not strictly "for a punt", but I always do a bit of research and try to squeeze in a punt if I can. Last year I managed a couple of punts in New Zealand, and one in Tokyo.

We are lucky here in London to have a bounty of different girls only a stone's through away and at any time of the day or night.

210 miles roundtrip

210 miles!!!!! You must be bonkers!!!

I'd travel some distance if I knew when I arrived the WG was going to be there.... nothing more annoying than traveling for 30mins - 1hour, then calling to confirm you're there and the WG's turned off her phone!!!

Not happened to me many times but once is too many...

I hope you come back and post Jacob, and maybe read this old thread of yours. Your missed by lots of posters.

I have a maximum 50 mile round trip limit but as i live in London that gives me a lot of choice fortunately.

I know punters that travel from America just to punt for a few days, i sometimes meet them at parties. Others from Ireland and Scotland come just for a party and then set straight off back home. I take my hat off to them, thats dedication to punting.

Tony Montana

I see it like this - there are thousands of blokes who will drive hundreds of miles to an away match, to pay a load of money to stand in the cold and wet for 90 minutes and watch their team get beat 1-0 or whatever.

Or you can drive a few hundred miles to spend some time in the company of a gorgeous young woman and you can personally score 3 times.  :D

I did once organise to see a WG who then gave the address as about 3 streets away which would have taken me about 5 minutes. Far too close, so didn't go through with it.

I suppose it all depends on time and cost. If you're able to have a time window of a few hours of travel and can afford the petrol then why not?

I don't impose a limit on myself but I prefer to use public transport wherever possible, on Monday I travelled from Hornchurch to Colliers Wood which involved three different trains plus a 15 minute walk.    :scare:

The problem with driving is allowing enough time, that is especially true when using the M25.

I saw one particular girl about 3 or 4 times, her apartment was the other side of the City. The last time I saw her she text me saying she was staying at her mothers & would it be ok for me to go there. I said it's fine, just give me the address. Fuck me it would have been quicker for me to walk from my house than drive it was that close  :scare:

I still went through with it though, it was a last minute appointment so my cock was ruling my brain  :D

I've travelled to London to a party on 2 occasions, 2hr trip each way and also been to Birmingham, again 2hrs each way. Worth it on all 3 occasions though.

I usually travel to London twice a month or more. Sometimes I happen to be nearby, otherwise I make a day of it. If I had to drive, or it meant "losing" hours of time to travelling I probably wouldn't bother. However, with mobile broadband I can spend the journey working, or just browsing the web, almost as easily as if I were sat at a desk. Once in Central London I usually travel around under my own steam, as I do if I punt locally.

As a non-driver, who wouldn't want to punt too close to home, I usually have a jouney time of around 1 - 2 hours.

If I punt on this side of the Pennines, my single journey time's usually about an hour.  If I go across the Pennines, it's usually just over 2 hours, including connections.

panel999

90% of my punts are during my free time during work - usually between 1-5.30pm - i normally start at 7am and take a break before doing my work reports between these hours I am then back for the late session at work usually between 5.30 to 7pm.

Depending on where i am it is usually a max of 1 hour as i am in or around the M25 and mostly in Central and north Ease London

Due to my job, I  travel around a lot so I tend to punt close to airports but I also regularly drive 100 miles for punting purposes

It's not till I read things like this RL that I realise how easy we have it down South.... you have to travel over the Pennines but the highest things we encounter are the speed bumps! Hardly a comparison..
