Going back to the topic I think some put gentleman as the man was polite and respectful and it sounds better than putting guy, bloke, man, punter etc.
some men do act like gentlemen during a punt so saying so is a compliment.
If I put a true/real Gentleman on someone's feedback it means that to me he acted as one and treated me as an equal and was polite, respectful towards me throughout the booking and I felt comfortable in his company and he had good manners ( offered a drink and used please and Thankyou rather than just grunting at me, surprisingly please and Thankyou don't seem to be words in many people's vocabulary any more)
Take it as it is meant. As a compliment
