Scam. Dilemma

I have just been the victim of a scam. Went along to a flat in edinburgh, paid my money, money put into kitchen, had a bit of a chat, went through to the bedroom....before I even had my coat off, the "brother" comes back (let's himself in) and she's "oh my god, my brother is back and doesn't want to leave". Brother gets a bit aggressive and demands I leave. I'm still fully clothed. I give her the options - he leaves, she leaves with me for an outcall, or I get my money back. Strangely, the money has disappeared from the kitchen. Brother starts getting aggressive saying that I'm committing a crime. I leave the flat as he's getting aggressive but stand outside her front door and call the police as I've just had enough. Despite protesting taht she wanted her brother to go, first she comes out and says she's called her father (like taht is going to worry me) and then both of them leave the flat together - obviously aware that, unlike others, I have actually called the police. Given they've done a scarper, I call off the police but register a complaint with them.
Now my dilemma - she is obviously working from her own home; stupidly for her I know her real name and also the name of her child; it is a respectable area and I'm sure that he old dearies that I saw outside as I was awaiting the police wouldn't like what she's doing. I've sinc done a search and found on this site taht she's done the same before under a different profile name. Do I name her and her address? And do I drop the police complaint?

Whether to complain to the police or not is more of a personal issue, because of the potential of it becoming public knowledge etc so am not going to comment on that.
However, (I'm sure this sentiment will be echoed by those who post later) definitely name here to warn others, especially if she is known for it!

The usual way is to screen cap the AW profile before she shuts it down and post a link to the pic here (see the London thread they screen cap a lot of the EE girls who's profiles disappear and reappear in other places). and any AW aliases you know about. But no I wouldn't post her real name here, for the obvious reasons.

I'd name her and her `brother', as long as naming someone on here won't get admin into shit.  Nothing to stop you printing out her AW profile and leafleting her neighbours though.  Also I'd track down her landlord and inform them, and either shop her for benefit fraud or inform the tax man to look into her earnings.

I'll have a think. I don't know if it was a brother, partner, an ex or just a male friend. She's pretty stupid doing it from her flat though in a nice area where she even pointed to the nursery where her boy goes. She took her Photos off her aw profile as soon as I chcked back but she even sent me photos f(albeit fully clothed) from an email address to a hotmail address I'd set up. Not very clever at all esp when it's apparemt that I'm not the first.

Don't worry - I wasn't going to go down the violence route. It's just a matterof the extent to which I go down the legal route. .its a shame as she seemed like a nice girl although her "brother" was scum. I know....I'm a mug!

I've actually emailed her and given her the last chance of meeting me and paying back the money, which failing I am proceeding down the legal route. Suspect I wont. Her anything I reply so I will have to explore other avenues. At that stage, I will also give more details of her

With respect mate, and not in any way downplaying what happened to you, for obvious reasons you need to post details regardless of whether you manage to get your money back. These scumbags will be doing this to others so the sooner the better

From time to time I'm afraid any of us could find ourselves in this position.
No doubt the perpetrators always assume that anyone caught out by this type of play will be too embarrassed or have too much to lose to consider outing them.

Bottom line is that some women who sell themselves probably don't think theft is such a moral stretch for them.

Forums like this are a great way to limit the damage to the responsible punters who communicate albeit anonymously.

In all the similar threads I've read on UKP I don't recall anyone ever getting their money back, and I think you handled the situation at the time as well as anyone could without leaving yourself open to a charge of assault or worse.

Personally I agree with your reluctance to involve the police but I would make sure I hit her prossie earning potential quite hard by informing as many punters as I possibly could & tracking her whereabouts at every possible occasion, posting her pictures & informing punters when she changes profiles & phone numbers.

Kindly enlighten me as to why I was a mug to get into that situation. Other than the fact that she had no feedback (and some of us may like girls that have not been constantly fucked) I didn't do anything different than anyone else does when they go for a punt -meet the girl, pay the cash, get in with it. It was only then that the interruption occurred. Hardly foreseeable when her profile wasn't on this site.

DL you are not going to get your money back.  Did the brother threaten you directly? Did anyone indendently witness any threats or disturbance by the brother? Is there any corroboration to the scam? If not it is unlikely the police will be able to take into any action unless there is a few simalier cases.  Worthwhile speaking to them when they call back but there is unlikely to be a court case any time soon. You have called them so chances are they will call back, let them know what's happened in case any real shit happens in the future or they can tie a few cases together.  Tell them to be discrete. Ask them how discrete they can be before committing to witness statement.

Then name and shame as out as outlined by the others here..

I've just skimmed over the posts, so apologise if this point has been made.  The OP highlighted there was a child involved so this most important issue here is child protection as there is alleged prostitution, aggression and criminal activity. Inform the social work department and they will investigate. Will she continue this behaviour if she risks losing her child?

So, I have a number of potential avenues if I really wanted to. She also knows that I am giving a statement to the police at 5pm on Monday and, for whatever reason, she now wants to meet me in the city centre on Monday. I think that is known as her bricking it without me having to resort to my fists. I may still not see any money and she may not turn up but it's her that will have to face the consequences if she doesn't.

Tell her you want double back for your troubles, and that you know everything about her and her family on fb etc, fuck her make her sweat, not in the original way you were meant to tho!!

I'd be careful at the "meeting". If She's desperate enough to be doing what she is, she might not take well to potential threats. Of course that's no excuse for her scumbag behaviour.

I think that if you were going to get a refund, You'd have got it then and there. Be wary.

Thanks for the words of warning. I am being wary. The "brother" doesn't scare me in a public place. It was only getting involved in a one-on-one without witnesses, and then having to deal with the police, that meant I retreated last time
