I've noticed you mention this point before, I've thought the same.  I think some possible reasons are
- Profiles could be out of our area at time of search
- Profiles could be inactive at time of search
- Profiles could not be escort tagged at time of search

In general keep your search as wide as possible like for example not specifying that the results need to have logged in within a certain time before your search

That have logged in: (at any time)

And keeping the broad search when you search by location the best way to do that is search by the counties in the North West without specifiying the Town which is free form text
So by
Greater Manchester and Merseyside - In County
rather then
Manchester and Liverpool - In Town

Thanks Info. I do tend to use the "have logged in within the last week" option as I tend to think there's more chance of them being active. To do otherwise for instance takes the Lancs pages from the usual 5 up to about 8 or 9 including a fair bit of what I assume to be deadwood ?
I also do use the County option instead of town.
I also subscribe 4credits a month to the "Logged in now" option as that definitely shows they're active that day.
