Author Topic: Chinese Massage vs Thai  (Read 1258 times)

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering why there are no Chinese massage shops in the Bradford area (that I know of). It all seems to be Thai's - I read with envy the reviews of Healing Space and Oriental Annie in Doncaster, which is too far for me to travel. Do the Thai's have the monopoly in Bradford and any Chinese infiltration is met with hostility, is it the same but the other way around in Doncaster?

If anyone knows of any Chinese places in this neck of the woods I'd be interested to learn of them!

There has been some discussion about this before (although I can't find it now). Leeds is just as bad.

I really don't understand why the Chinese seem reluctant to set up in West Yorks, as opposed to the many places around South Yorks.  As far as I know, the only Chinese place in Leeds is the one in Woodhouse, which I've reported on a few times but have now given up on, as the service varies too much, usually delivering disappointment.  I wonder if the regulatory process in West Yorks is stricter and affects the Chinese style of operation more?  :unknown:

Healing Space and Oriental Annie have both gone off the boil, particularly Annie's, it has never recovered from the loss of Jessica, a loss to us all!  So we're all keeping a lookout for the next star.

At the moment the escorts section of Vivastreet list around 41 asian profiles within 10 miles of Leeds city centre
Just over half of these are Chinese in origin - though some of these will be duplicates, but you've probably got around 12-15 Chinese girls on offer there. Some of these are specifically offering massage rather than FS - so there is some kind of availability there.

However you're right in that the massage section of Vivastreet lists no Chinese parlours in Leeds, while Google seems to list just one.

Maybe the red paint didn't work - or backfired? How linked are the Leeds Thai parlours to criminal gangs?

I’d say that the criminal gangs control the Chinese providers you see on VS but working from apartments rather than shops. There are also always loads of Brazilians in Leeds so I’d assume a connection there.

VS is less than useless if punters reports are to be believed. But I'm sure you're right; at the bottom of this there'll be OCGs operating. Awkward

Bradford is a strange one where Chinese massage places are concerned and in some respects Leeds too, but if you can get the mamasans to speak then they may shed a bit of light on the matter

I recall a now former Chinese mamasan was looking for a 2nd shop, so i made her aware of a hair salon in the Bradford area whose lease was due and would not be renewed, this had reasonable monthly rents, accessible free parking for 3 or 4 cars, the potential for front and back entrances too, but she flatly refused to entertain it, passing certain comments relating to bad customers and even worse landlords, make of this what you will

However, we also have similar complaints from touring Thai girls regarding Leeds, expensive accommodation and bad customers, which may be part of the reasons for the lack of Chinese shops

That said, west yorks does have a few Chinese shops, ok not like South Yorks, but there is a few, and im sure there could be more than i mention below

Halifax, Magic fingers
Wakefield, OuYa & Rainbow
Huddersfield, HollyWoo
Cleckheaton, An's Tui Na
Pontefract, Selinas
Leeds, Nature herb wellbeing

Just speculation but I wonder if that's somehow tied up with punter attitudes relating to the now-closed tolerance zone? Did that produce "bad" customers who are still trying to work the same way??

I do recall one of the massage shops having lots of issues around the time of the zone being closed, so speculation or not, it could be a good shout

Interesting stuff. I am partial to a Thai, mainly due to availability. Thai massage shops, legit or not, are in abundance within an easily commutable distance of my home. VS ads, whilst lots of Chinese are available, dont appeal to me like a massage shop does, mainly due to the copious and obvious B&S tactics employed and dubious employee working conditions snd origins.

Makes sense with Leeds being expensive, but that still doesn't deter the Thais. Also understandable why they would avoid Bradford, both the place and the clientele are less than desirable. Perhaps the Chinese consider themselves more upmarket than the Thais, at least the ones not being trafficked.

Yes, there was a Thai place on Domestic St opposite the Post Office.  I never ventured there as it's too close to home, but I expected it to thrive, but it closed down not long after the tolerance zone ended.

This was Nana Thai, i believe

It was originally opened by the owner of Ubon, the main girl called herself May but also used the name Rose, previously worked in Bangkok shop amongst others

A number of other girls supported May/Rose, one being Jessy Thai, aka Lilly with glasses ex ubon and now owner of Sabai sabai in Liversedge, now called Nok Thai spa

However, the shop then gained another regular girl to work along side May, this was Lisa (also worked Ubon too) Lisa was alright, she was much younger than many of the other local shop girls, back then she was 28yrs, slim, great natural tits, good English though she was 50/50 Thai & English, a mate of mine ended up seeing her out of hours
He introduced me to Lisa's sister, whom was even younger but unfortunately not a provider, though i did manage to have some fun with her

Back to Nana, Back then, my mate told me that Lisa and her sister were taking over the shop from Ubon, i recall him saying that those two dumb fucks are buying Nana

The Nana shop barely broke even, constant hassle from the street people, indiscrete entrance, and parking was iffy too, which all contributed to its down fall, but somehow Ubon managed to convince the sisters to buy them out

Ubon was opening the place on Fish street and used that as an excuse for offloading the Nana shop, i had visited Nana a few times and found May/Rose to be an ok provider, Lily with glasses was also good fun, once i knew my buddy was shagging Lisa then she was a no go for me, but the shop only remained open for a few weeks after the sisters took over, apparently they didnt have a clue of how to run a business
