Viagra headaches WTF!

How the hell do you get rid of these fucking headaches? Ibuprofen and paracetamol don't seem to touch them!
Sexually satisfied and no longer with a ragging hard on but now have another fucking viagra headache!
I suppose the best solution is to stop taking them :-(
Any solutions would be muck appreciated

How much is 'well hydrated' unfortunately  my bladder isn't what it used to be!
I think I need my sex drive to drop. Off topic I know but I thought men were at there sexual peak 16-23? Mine never died away and I find the more I get the more I want which inevitability leads to more fucking headaches! (literally)
Maybe it's time for bromide in my tea.. Or does that give you a headache?

Yes plenty of water helps, however, what strength viagra are you taking?  Having tried viagra and cialis which gave me thumping headaches, I got some 50mg sildenafil from Lloyds via their online service and the headache is mild to non-existent now. There was no lack of effect on the 50mg tabs either.

Have you tried lowering your dosage?
If I use a pain killer about 2 hours before popping 1/2 a tablet the headaches seem a lot less severe, I tried the water thing but with my bladder I kept having to excuse myself to go for a piss.
Personally I prefer Cialis more expensive but with zero side effects for me, also with the added bonus that it stays in my system for 3 days so ready to play when required.

It works by dilating the arteries in your body and not necessarily just  the 'shaggin apparatus.

It can also affect arteries elsewhere and there're quite a few in your brain etc.

Like all drugs it does cause side effects theirs always the wanted effect and the un-wanted ones.

Have a word with word your doctor and you mighty be advised to try something else. Other effects like an effect on color vision are known about as is hearing loss and visual loss but these are very rare but headache is commonplace.

I used to use it and had some nastiness but Cialas works better for me and may well do for you. Its like in a way tablets for high blood pressure, most all work but some have less side effects than others etc..

IMO no-one could argue with the advice already offered to speak to a doctor.

For myself, I've tried varying the way I take it. I used to take a hard or chewable 100mg dose  of sildenafil 15 minutes before a party - as it does take effect for me that quickly - so long as I've not had a heavy meal, and drink a pint of water at the same time. I kept needing to pee and I felt wiped out by the end of the party. A bit annoying.

I tried varying my routine, and now I take a hard tablet 100 mg dose, 2 ibuprofen, and 2 paracetamol a good hour before a party. Works much better for me, though I still need a good kip that night - and the effect lasts much more than 4 hours - I still get random hardons the next day.

I'm guessing there are many factors at play - and what works for one may not work in the same way for another. I agree with other posters - to paraphrase - the headache comes from inflammation in the brain - which I think is much like a hangover - so what helps avoid or treat a hangover seems to make sense to me personally for dealing with sildenafil headaches.

I used to get headaches with Viagra, so I experimented and found I got on better with both Cialis and Levitra.  Levitra has approximately the same effect for me with no side effects. Cialis obviously has a slightly different effect in that it lasts a couple of days rather than just a few hours but I don't get any side effects with that either so I use either depending on the situation.

When I take it my vision is often affected.  I see everything in a blue tint - most noticeably things which should be white!  But this will pass in under an hour.  Bit scary though - maybe I should get Viagra from a doctor so I can be checked out properly rather than continuing to get it from Asda after just answering "No" to a dozen questions.

Probably best to take some medical advice.

I used to take 100mg tablets and when I took them in the morning for a lunchtime/ early afternoon session I occasionaly got headaches late afternoon and had to sleep them off. When I took one for an evening bash I went to bed immediately afterwards and didn't notice any headache. On the other hand there were times when I didn't get any headache at all and went off to the pub to celebrate my bit of fun. Maybe it depends on how much food and drink you have before.

Maybe have a word with a doc just to be safe.

I had a few beers after taking Viagra once (aborted punt maybe, can't remember exactly). I felt like shit afterwards. Probably because the Viagra dehydrated me and then the alcohol dehydrated me further. A single G&T after taking a Viagra (which helps me last longer without cumming ) and I'm OK - although a doctor would probably advise against this!

When doing walk up rounds in soho this was a bit embarasing. If I take at night 10 ish this causes multi hard ons though night which I find difficult to sleep though, how ever the other half enjoys it but I am left as she says 20 years young for 4hrs then 20 years older for 24hrs

I've tried viagra - but have switched to Kamagra in sachets.  Certainly quicker than tablets & much cheaper.  Just makes me thirsty - so its take it with a small bottle of water.  Same again just before arriving on my punt.  No headaches on either - maybe i'm just lucky.  Tend to take it when i've been on a drinking session & want to avoid Mr Floppy.  Good for a 2nd pop within a reasonable amount of time.  Signing off - 'Dr. WP'

i take 2 paracetamols and 2 ibuprofen at the same time as i take the pill, works for me,

If you don't have a medical need for them (ie erectile dysfunction) I would say don't mess with them. They don't just affect your cock but open all your blood vessels which has all sorts of potential side effects.

For me personally the side effects have been minimal since switching from viagra to levitra but I have heard of cases where people mix them with alcohol and / or other recreational drugs with disastrous results.

If you don't actually need them I would say it's not worth the risk unless you are 100% sure of your health and aren't mixing with any other drugs / booze.

At the end of the day they are not intended for recreational use.

I think that's one of those questions to which the answer is, unfortunately, "it depends".

I sometimes like to punt with the same frequency as I did 20 or 25 years ago. Back then it felt like something I needed. Nowadays it still sometimes feels like that, but other times it's now more of a choice about how I will spend my spare time. If I'm keen on a punt like a man staggering out of a desert and looking forward to his first cold drink then I won't bother, because an ED aid would be pointless. I like to punt more often than that, and also to punt opportunistically whether I'm particularly horny or not - for example when I'm up in London on business.

Also makes a difference whether you're a shower or grower IMO. In latter years I've often punted and cum without getting fully erect. Full erection is more likely with an ED pill, and that can make it more fun for both me and the WG (or WGs).

For me, yes. For you...?

It really depends on the nature of the problem you need a solution to. If you're struggling to get and stay hard enough to properly enjoy penetrative sex there's a very good chance that ED meds will be beneficial. If you think ED meds will help you can make an appointment to sit with the pharmacist at an ASDA store (in the little private interview booth they have) to go through a brief qualifying interview which will determine whether ED meds will be of benefit and safe for you to use.

Plenty of good advice/wisdom on this topic in the ukp community, which I'm sure will be forthcoming if you want more.

However I would urge the O/P to check with his doctor to see if there anything else wrong/amiss that might be the cause behind the headaches for instance when was your static blood pressure taken last. That can show up quite a few things if that's out of shall we say, tolerance..

You don't necessarily have to take the whole dose in one shot.  Viagra has a half-life (the time  taken for your body to eliminate half of it) of about 4 hours.

I was on 50mg, but that wasn't enough (yes, I have a clinical need).  100mg does the job but hurts like hell, unless I take 50mg 2 hours before and another 50mg 1 hour before (with a standard 500mg paracetamol with each).  I'm losing a bit of the earlier dose, but enough is left.

Interestingly, the symptoms of the first 50mg are more noticeable than those of the second, even though the concentration is higher after the second.  It's as if the symptoms are triggered by the first one, then my body has gotten to grips with the problems (headache and facial flushing) by the time that the second one hits.  Two hours after starting my 100mg programme, I'm feeling better than I did one hour after taking just 50mg.

The advice on the packet says you should only take it once per day, but as I'm not exceeding the recommended daily limit of 100mg, I don't think that matters.

Yep, agree. I'm trying Spedra and it's good gear. Very little side effects, works quickly too. Lloyds on line doctor.

Had fake viagra before and got really bad headache. Had other viagra not sure if it's real but more expensive and got no headache


I have some now not took it yet . You can get it from asda . My mate said he got headaches off all the viagra he done until he started getting the real stuff from asda . It's cheap as well the patent is up now so more proper companies can make the drug
