Is it trafficking if the girl is going willingly?  If the girl is not underage, forced or coerced, this guy is doing no more than a taxi driver  (apart from the separate brothel keeping offence)

I once had an overnight at a hotel with a girl who worked at a Manchester brothel, and I drove her to work the next morning.  That doesn't make me a trafficker  :scare:

I was in the same position, I was a girl’s last customer in Hounslow and I offered her a lift back into town so she could get a train to Luton where she was working the next day. Then when Harriet Harman introduced her new legislation, bingo that would have classed as trafficking.

They obviously haven’t released all the information around what he was doing and how involved he was in transportation of the girls around the country

There is more to this story than just this.

If what you said was true then Uber would be shut down by now.

I think he was running a brothel which is not allowed.

The report says he admitted human trafficking and brothel keeping offences so the details are there.

Not true, a taxi driver has no idea what his passenger does for a living, they are paid to transport a person from A to B whether or not the are sex workers is irrelevant, they are under no obligation to establish what the passenger does for a living.

It's the same as hotels that escorts use don't get charged with running a brothel.

But yes it still counts as trafficking. In fact in this case it looks as if some of the journeys involved were quite considerable.
I get the impression that in this case they used the trafficking charge because it was the easiest thing to  prove and wouldn't need evidence from the girl

Yes it does, though whether it would pass the test of a prosecution being in the public interest is debatable.
