Yes it works great.

Used it on my neck and chest and was a strange feeling watching myself being tattooed and not being able to feel any pain.

Would have came in handy 20 odd years or so ago when I spent 12 hours getting my back tattooed in pure agony.

I was that skinny the tattooist said he could feel my spinal bone through the needle  was a horrendous 12 hours

I just got one off Amazon, there’s a few different brands that do it from memory. I just applied to the area that was getting tattooed 1 hour before tattoo and then wrap it in cling film. Head to your tattoo and take the cling film off when you get there. You should be good for 2 hours of pain free tattooing. After 2 hours I began to feel it again but it definitely took the edge off

I fell asleep the last time I was tattooed, on my back, no cream. I think it was more the skill of the tattooist being honest

It tends to be less painful on the fleshier parts of the body, so if like me, you have a bit of a beer gut, it'll at least be tolerable.
