Thought I’d share my experience for anyone planning their first trip to Pattaya. Hopefully this helps someone understand how things work there and avoid a few mistakes I made myself.
This wasn’t my first time in Thailand, but it was my friend’s first ever trip to Pattaya, so a lot of the trip ended up feeling like an adventure for both of us.
Day 1 – Honey 2 Nuru Massage & First Night Exploring Pattaya
We landed, dropped our bags off, and before we could even properly check into the hotel, we headed straight to Honey 2.
For anyone who hasn’t been before, the setup is pretty simple:
Girls sit on sofas with number badges
They’re separated into different tiers
Prices ranged roughly from 2,500–4,800 baht depending on the girl
You choose who you like, tell the staff, and they’ll ask her to come over.
I picked one from the higher tier at 4,800 baht, but because it was still early afternoon around 3pm, they gave me a 500 baht discount.
Once selected, she took me upstairs to the room.
One thing I didn’t realise at the time:
They ask if you want a drink once inside. I casually said yes without thinking and later realised it cost another 500 baht. Lesson learned — if you don’t want it, just say no.
The session itself lasted around 90 minutes:
Shower together
Bath together
Nuru massage
Then full service afterwards
Honestly, it wasn’t quite what I expected. Everything felt very mechanical and there wasn’t much chemistry or conversation. It almost felt like she was just going through the motions.
Still, first day in Pattaya and the excitement was there regardless.
Afterwards, me and my friend finally checked into the hotel, grabbed some food, then spent the night exploring Walking Street, Beach Road, and Soi 6.
Watching Pattaya through my friend’s eyes was actually entertaining. Everything felt completely new to him — the lights, the chaos, the music, and girls pulling you into bars every few metres.
You forget how overwhelming Pattaya feels the first time you visit.
Day 2 – Soi 6
The next afternoon we headed back to Soi 6.
Straight away my friend admitted he felt intimidated. Girls were shouting, grabbing arms, trying to pull us into bars from every direction. It definitely feels intense if it’s your first time there.
Eventually we settled into a bar called Kimochi.
We each picked a girl to sit with while buying drinks and chatting. After a while we asked about ST (short time).
The mamasan told us we could take the girls out for 2 hours for 1,500 baht because one of the girls was only 20 and not allowed upstairs inside the bar. (Mine was 27)
Luckily our hotel was literally next door, so we took them there instead.
Afterwards, the four of us went to the nearby market for food before bringing the girls back to work since we still had time left.
Honestly, moments like that surprised me the most. Sitting around eating local food together felt strangely normal considering where we met. The girls knew all the best food spots too, so everybody ended up happy.
Later that night we returned around midnight for more drinks before the bars closed.
Once the girls finished work, we invited them out for food again. No extra bar fine, no pressure — just hanging out together.
During dinner my friend arranged overnight with his girl for 3,000 baht.
Mine stayed with me for free because we genuinely got along well. She stayed until around 1pm the next day while I worked on my laptop, then we went for lunch together before I dropped her back at work.
I still gave her 3,000 baht afterwards as a thank you.
Things I noticed:
Lady drinks were around 180–200 baht
Girls usually receive around 80–100 baht from each drink
Direct tipping felt more appreciated than endlessly buying drinks
Day 3 Pin-Up Agogo & Hollywood Club
The following night we checked out a few agogos around Walking Street, but Pin-Up easily had the best vibe for us.
The original plan was simple:
Have a few drinks then head over to Hollywood nightclub afterwards
My friend was already arranging to meet the girl from the nuru massage later that night after agreeing a price for overnight.
We both bought drinks for a girl each.
Funny enough, mine seemed more interested in me than I was in her at first. She was 21 years old and full of energy.
Eventually I asked if she wanted to come out with me and she said:
“Just pay the bar fine and I’ll come to Hollywood with you and stay after.”
I’d never taken a girl out from an agogo before, so I was honestly suspicious.
In my head I kept thinking:
“What if I pay the bar fine and she disappears once we get to the club?”
I spoke to one of the staff and she laughed, telling me:
“If she disappears, you come back and get your money.”
Even then I still hesitated.
In the end, the girl said she’d come find me after work around 1am instead.
We swapped Instagram details and left for Hollywood.
Day 4 Hollywood Club – The Freelancer Scene
Hollywood Club was probably the biggest surprise of the trip.
At first we genuinely thought it was just another nightclub.
Then after a while we realised almost everyone there was either:
Looking for work
Or looking for someone to go home with
I’d say the crowd was around:
70% girls/ladyboys
30% guys looking for ST or LT
The atmosphere is very different from normal clubs back home. Once you understand what’s actually going on, it almost gives you a confidence boost because everyone’s there for similar reasons.
Most girls were approachable if you were direct.
Typical overnight prices ranged around:
4,000–8,000 baht depending on the girl
You’ll need to buy drinks to get a table. We spent around 800 baht each.
At some point my friend left to meet the massage girl at the restaurant opposite the club while I stayed inside drinking.
Big mistake.
I got absolutely wasted.
At one point I nearly stumbled out of the club by myself trying to find my friend.
That single night basically ruined the next two days because of the hangover.
Definitely not time well spent.
I ended the night alone in the hotel room, completely drunk, staring at the ceiling wondering why I drank that much in the first place.
Day 5 Solo Day – The Castle & Lillys (LK)
The next day my friend flew home, leaving me alone for the rest of the trip.
I wandered around Soi 6 during the afternoon, had a few drinks, chatted with a few girls, but honestly wasn’t really feeling the vibe that day.
Since I had time to kill, I decided to visit “The Castle” — a fetish club I’d heard mixed opinions about online.
Part of me already knew I probably wouldn’t enjoy it, but curiosity got the better of me.
I knocked on the door and a Thai lady explained the pricing:
1,000 baht for one drink
1,500 baht for unlimited drinks
I chose unlimited and went inside.
The place was empty — literally just me there.
Inside looked like a dungeon with different themed areas. There was:
A mistress
One ladyboy
Two women
They performed a short show before the mistress came over asking what I liked.
Honestly, the whole vibe felt pushy and uncomfortable. The staff seemed rude and I just wasn’t feeling it at all.
I finished my beer and left disappointed.
Still, I’m glad I went because otherwise I’d probably always wonder what was inside.
After that I walked over to Lily LP, which was only about five minutes away.
Completely different atmosphere.
I went because people online highly recommended it and I can understand why.
The ladyboys there were playful, confident, friendly, and genuinely easy to talk to.
The bar was quiet when I arrived around 9pm — just me and another guy there.
I bought one of the ladyboys a drink and we started chatting about going upstairs.
She initially quoted 2,000 baht but after seeing me hesitate dropped it to 1,500.
Then I jokingly asked:
“What about two?”
She laughed, called her friend over, and suddenly all three of us were negotiating together.
Final price:
1,500 baht each
Plus 500 baht each for the room
Total: 4,000 baht.
We went upstairs to a basic room, showered, had fun, then went back downstairs afterwards for another drink.
Honestly, it felt like one of those bucket-list moments where afterwards you just sit there laughing to yourself thinking:
“Well… that actually happened.”
I stayed chatting with another really pretty ladyboy for a while before leaving.
Overall the place felt easy-going, relaxed, and straightforward.
Back to Pin-Up Agogo
Later that night I went back to Pin-Up and saw the same girl who promised she’d come find me after work.
Turns out she actually had messaged me earlier on Instagram, but it went into another inbox and I completely missed it.
I was genuinely annoyed at myself for that.
This time I stopped overthinking everything.
I asked:
“How much to take you out?”
She smiled and replied:
“Just pay the 2,000 baht bar fine.”
Done immediately.
We grabbed some food together at the market, went back to the hotel, showered, and relaxed together for the night.
Honestly, compared to some of the other experiences in Pattaya, this one felt different.
She stayed curled up in my arms most of the night and remained until around 11am the next morning. It genuinely felt like a girlfriend experience rather than something transactional.
When we finally said goodbye the next day, we just kissed and hugged before she left for work.
For a city that can sometimes feel transactional, moments like that catch you off guard a little.
Day 6 Final Night in Pattaya
My final day came around way too quickly.
Late afternoon I messaged her again asking if she was working and whether I could take her out one more time.
She told me she needed to make 10 drinks first before she could leave.
So I went back again:
Bought another 6 drinks (she’d already made 4)
Paid the 2,500 baht bar fine
Took her out for live music and food
Then back to the hotel afterwards
Again, the whole night had more of a girlfriend vibe than anything else. It felt like she genuinely enjoyed spending time with me.
The next morning she woke up early with me and even offered to come to the airport.
I politely refused, but that small gesture honestly stayed in my mind.
We checked out together and she waited downstairs with me until my taxi arrived.
Before leaving for my flight, I tried giving her extra money.
She refused to take it.
That genuinely surprised me.
Things I Learned
1. Don’t Overdrink
Getting blackout drunk in Pattaya sounds fun until you waste the next two days dying in bed.
2. Chemistry Matters More Than Looks
Some of the best experiences came from girls I genuinely connected with, not necessarily the most expensive or most attractive ones. I was genuinely surprised that both of them didn’t want my money.
3. Tipping Directly Works Better
Direct tips created a much better atmosphere than endlessly buying lady drinks. Compared to prices in the UK, they are very little money. Be generous and enjoy
4. Pattaya Can Feel Overwhelming at First
Especially places like Soi 6.
Take your time, relax, and don’t feel pressured into anything.
5. Sometimes the Best Moments Are Unexpected
Some of my favourite memories weren’t the wild nights — they were the random conversations, late-night food runs, and small moments in between everything else.
Hope this helps anyone planning their first Pattaya trip.
Feel free to comment if I missed anything or if you’ve had different experiences.
