Author Topic: How To Spot A Fake Profile  (Read 926 times)

I just replied to a couple of fellow members on a TOFTT chat - one who said he'd paid to access the private gallery of an escort's Adultwork page to find out more about her, and a second saying he'd not heard back from that same escort even though he'd messaged her over a week ago. The Adultwork profile had the following:

1. No phone number
2. No public gallery
3. Large private photo gallery (£3.00 for 24hr access)
4. Zero feedback on AW or reviews here on UKP
5. Large private video gallery with 'curtain' thumbnails so that not a single frame can be viewed without paying money (some videos over £8.00 each)

To me this equals fake profile - set up to encourage the purchase of content to find out more about an escort that nobody is ever going to see - but maybe it's not that obvious to everyone, or perhaps I am being overly cautious/cynical?

What about if it's an AW account with no feedback but also a corresponding VS ad with matching numbers?

What's the steps to "two-factor" profiles?

Just going on your points 1-5

I would just ignore.

I agree, most likely a picture scammer, and it will probably be a bloke who is running the profile using random pictures from the web, or AI generated.

Read point 1

OP said there was no number on the AW profile.

If the profile (AW or VS) has a telephone number, you call it and make a booking - simples :unknown:

If I find two corresponding ads with the same number on both sites, and the number isn't replicated across VS for multiple ads in various locations - I usually think that's a pretty good sign.

These guys seemed genuinely unaware - one had paid for PG access, which means the profile page is functioning exactly as the bloke wants it to. So congrats to the bloke I guess?

Plenty of profiles claiming to be 'escorts' on aw that are not. There are give away signs like one or more of the following:

1. Feedback for camming or other stuff but none as an escort.
2. An unreasonably high cost as an escort to discourage booking.
3. Saying they will only meet if you cam with them first to get to know each other.

There are even those who 'tour' around the country and reset their location to encourage the locals to admire their paid galleries.

I think you have spotted one type of fake profile the "PG farmer" where the profile exists just to harvest credits for viewing the content.

The checklist you went through looks about right for that sort of profile.

In the example you commented on, to judge from the surroundings in the photos, it looks like "Crystal" is a UK-based amateur. In one photo she seems to have jumped up in the air to make her boobs look better.

I think there is a real person who took those pictures within the last few years. (Looks like a iPhone 13 she's holding which came out in late 2021) .

There are other types of fakes, which use other methods.

There's a long running topic on that : https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=420.0

When you said "curtains thumbnails" I didn't think it meant literal curtains but it seems it did !
