I think your transfer policy lacks any cohesion, you don’t seem to sign what you need, you sign players and hope they come good, a kid in a sweet shop approach.

Take Youri Tielemans who is a fantastic footballer who was a vital part of the Villa’s success last season, when he was injured for six weeks or so earlier this year we struggled. He can turnover a quick ball/pass without breaking sweat, but he lacks pace, add in the fact that Tieleman’s best position is already occupied by your best player then what does he bring to the side? An expensive understudy?

You needed a powerful box to box midfielder but you signed a water carrier.

Banging result
Ederson's move is going well in the football sink hole which is Turkey
How Turkish teams are even in the CL i have no idea
Because Turkey is partly in Europe.
Maybe get yourself a map.

You're right .... the whole club lacks cohesion and we got the wrong profile of midfielders, although all 3 could come good.
We also badly needed a backup striker, a left back, and a right back, and maybe a centre back, but it seems that we could only get the striker and LB if we got something for Rashford.

And it would appear that Rashford was not warmly welcomed back.

We're a fucking shit show.

Yes well there is that elephant in the room.
But that is a whole other minefield/rabbithole/level of hypocrisy.
That's why I suggested looking at a map.
In the hope the shekel would drop......

I think Leeds will hammer us this weekend, and Martinez knows it, and knows it might be the end of Carrick, so speaking up for him and on behalf of his team mates.

I've heard a rumour that the squad were really pissed off with the Summer transfer business, and in particular, that Rashford was forced on Carrick, and meant we couldn't get a couple of extra positions we needed to compete in more games this season.

Martinez seems to be a good egg, went straight to Mainoo at the end of that semi final to put his arm round him, and I think he's got the club's and Carrick's best interests at heart.

There could be a player bounce
If Utd start well they could end up with 3 points quite easily
If they go behind & then a 2nd added they could fall apart like Newcastle
More likely a draw & i'll take a point
Hopefully Utd will have had a tiring match against Athletico with one eye on Como next week

With regards to Martinez perhaps i've got the wrong end of the stick my view clouded by his bed sheet antics
I wonder if he'll be up to hair pulling again
Face bothered & helped with a Leeds victory @ TTONM earlier this year, well done  :hi:

A report in one of today's papers saying Arsenal are making 60 staff redundant. Arteta claimed it would make Arsenal evolve and improve. Arsenal recorded revenues of £691 million for the 2024/25 season. Doesn't say which staff are effected but like those tossers up north ( we all know who) it will probably be those on minimum wage like dinner lady's or office staff. What a bunch of greedy money grabbing cunts they are

He's back to making bollocks statements again
I wager that he wont know any of the 60 being fired
Best for him to saw nowt not involved in it but he can't help himself
I do hope he's getting Arsenal to train pre CL matches with the right balls coz previously he's moaned that these balls fly differently
& he reckoned that Arsenal were better than PSG in the 2025 CL semi for 160 out of the 180 mins [its a shame that PSG beat them in the other 20 mins

Most if not all clubs have a policy that fans collect points by attending home matches which enables some of them to buy away tickets
So did Blackburn until now
Attendance points are outta the window now its how much money fans spend
The club recently announced that for a Rovers fan to buy a ticket to Swansea away, you had to have 4,000 loyalty points to be in the first wave of sales
That figure is 1,500 more than you would have earned for buying a season ticket
You could attend every home game this season and still not reach that mark

Setting a very poor precedent
Hopefully the -ve PR will dissuade other clubs from doing the same

Just been looking at you club mate, membership £76.50 for + (£46.50 junior) £51.50 standard (£31.50 junior), Newcastle £40 for +, £39 for standard and £20 across the board for junior.   :unknown:

Don't know about other clubs but you can't do anything without being a member at Newcastle, members only go in the ballot for home tickets and to get on the extremely long season ticket waiting list. Away tickets are season ticket holders by ballot so I don't think there's a loyalty points system now, it isn't mentioned anywhere.

Thats a pukka policy on the junior tickets @ StJP
Were the tickets expensive as an away supporter when you made the trip to Bell End last month ?  Bet you wish you hadn't bothered  ;)

Haven't been a season ticket holder for years mate so no chance of getting to games now.  :(

There's no mention of points anywhere, just season ticket holders. Brighton is the next game with tickets available, Crystal Palace Everton and Fulham are all sold out.

Clubs will use any reason to make money out of their loyal fans, it’s a sad situation as loyalty counts for nothing. They just want your money.

That is some commitment from the Newcastle fans to sell out already the London matches a proper trek
The away section at Brighton is pretty good at one of the ends
Its just shy of 700 miles driving round trip

Arsenal announced in February that they had recorded record revenues of £691m for the 2024-25 financial year, although they still made an overall loss of £1.4m.

Poor first half for the Toon lucky to be only 1 down to Villa

Apparently that is 16 games on the trot at home without a clean sheet

Small potatoes to a club like Arsenal. I very much doubt axing 60 jobs would claw back anywhere near that amount of money. :unknown:

We can't defend, we can't score, we've got no chance, it's going to be a struggle, just have to hope there's 3 worse teams.

About the only bright point  was the return of Dan Burn - if only for 5 minutes

What a “physical” side Newcastle are, it was almost anti-football at times. That’s not what the proud and honourable Newcastle sides of years gone by were about. Kevin Keegan would be ashamed.

Very true, where's the player who scored more goals from open play than Isak when at Brentford?  :unknown:

We need to get it sorted and quickly.

Err - obviously it depends on the types of jobs and whether they are full time or not but
£1,400,000 divided by 60 equals £23,300 which isn’t a high salary for London - but that also needs to be reduced by about 25% because most employers consider the add on costs ( NI, pension, benefits, phone and computer costs etc to be at least 25% of base salary ( and sometimes considerably more) so that brings it down to a salary of about £18,000 pa!

So 60 ( full time ) jobs is definitely in the right financial area to save £1.4m Pa!

Couldn't agree more, Europe having a detrimental effect on league form happens quite often to some teams, don't know what excuse we can have.
