Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the standard has dropped at lavenders since they started employing European girls. Its not just the massages but the friendliness also. The likes of May and Helen made it feel a lot more intimate

I always get a good welcome and quality service - I think it helps being a regular and all the girls greeting you by name when you go in having seen most of them (and tip well if they deliver a quality service). Went boxing day but shut so tried be health again ended up for 60 mins with sunny for £40 at the desk and £40 for naked he and not much more - not a patch on Lavenders, or pilgrim st or even Lisas,  would have been better having a 1/2 hour punt

Lavenders was much better when the Uni students like Cooki etc were there. Yes it got a bit racy when Helen and Amy started going a bit further but do miss the other lasses who were taught by Coco.

Tried Be health once (Market Street/Grainger Street) once but location puts me off.

went last tuesday , personally i would avoid. ill tell you why . ive previously been when it was Number 1 and it was good , they dont have any massage tables, no problem i hear you say im happy with a bed well guess again it was a duvet on the floor ! i should have left but didnt , thought things were going to be ok when she came in and turned off the lights only a little candle to light the room, nice atmosphere but thats where it got worse , face down on a cold hard floor face in a pillow receiving a crap massage , turned over after what seemed like 15 mins but no clock so didnt know , more of this later , wanted £30 for hr told her not a chance , said the most i would pay was £20 . terrible hr , finished and got dressed , asked for a water and check my phone , realised id only been in 25 mins as id paid for an hour i asked for some money back , she tried to say we can carry on massage but i was dressed and ready to leave by now , came back with some money for me , as i left there was some meat head and the 4 girls just sniggering and 1 said come back and burst out laughing. I agree with you jarrovian - there's not much variety available in terms of good massage at the moment. Apart from Sheng Long, the other good ones I've had are Layla, who worked in Sunniside, though she's now gone back to Scotland, and Sunderland Oriental Massage. The problem with Sunderland Oriental Massage though is inconsistency - I've had one exceptional one, on par with Sheng Long but naked, another two good ones, and one that was just satisfactory.

I'm always on the lookout for new massage experiences, so If I find any new decent places to visit I'll keep you posted!

I agree, the quality in 2014 has gone hill in the number of good places.  Shen Long is still the best for massage and HE but is too far away for me to and from just for a massage.  Number 1 has always been hit and miss, only Rose give HE but with them moving to Pink Lane and going legit I doubt I will be back.  And considering when you go to Phuket Spa (also on Pink Lane) they are always busy so don't need to offer HE to retain customers.  Maybe thats what Number 1 is going for.

I did try a place in Whitley Bay (opposite Barclays) which provided 4 hand (£50 for 60minutes) before Xmas which I confirm was excellent for massage. It was on gumtree. Told me to take everything off but put towel over me so I thought, maybe HE will be on offer but with the amount of hot oil I understand why.  No HE but when the 2nd girl left with 20 minutes to go the other teased my balls and said she wouldn't normally do this but still no HE.  And be honest, the girls were lovely and gave a cracking massage so wasn't bothered.  I would return and would recommend this one guys.
