Author Topic: Hotels letting Men into rooms  (Read 5897 times)

This has been on the news in the last few days and it seems to be quite commonplace that Hotels fuck up and give room key cards to people for the wrong room, also cases where people blag their way in by telling the cleaner i've left something in my room "XYZ" and also people waiting in reception so they can spot a pretty lone girl and then listen as the receptionist tells them "Here's your key for room XYZ"

It's not just Travelodge either but no doubt all / most of the chains will now be scrabbling to improve their security and i'm sure we'd all wholeheartedly agree with this however i'm also wondering as punters whether it could make punting in hotels more difficult.
I mean while you're looking at improving security around not announcing room numbers publicly and tightening up on making sure random key cards aren't given out or random people being let in by the cleaner etc why wouldn't you also review and make it harder for strangers to walk in off the street and gain access straight to the rooms or lifts  :unknown:

I think we can expect some hotels / chains to become harder to access as a result of this

This was a man walking up to reception contact. Punters avoid this.

Making lifts card only is a bigger challenge.

You do realise that real ordinary non-sex industry people use hotels to meet other people to have sex. It's probably a good money maker for the hotel industry. It's only the wrong uns that they want to stop, so don't look like a wrong un.

Be discreet, don't stand out, look normal (I know this bit can be hard), look like a regular hotel guest (the staff don't know all the guests in their 100s room hotel by sight) and don't run or speed walk to the lift, say hi to staff if they say hi to you. If challenged just say you're visiting a friend or work colleague (you are) and don't cause any drama on the way in or out. You'll be fine.

This was someone who already knew the woman he assaulted. He would have known a lot about her. He had her phone number in his phone and he showed staff text messages between the two of them. It wasn't just some random wanker walking up to reception and asking for a person's room key.  Hopefully, hotels do improve their security procedures to stop that kind of situation happening and there's usually a deadlock or safety chain on the doors of Travelodges to stop an unauthorised person getting in. The person who was attacked clearly hadn't set it before going to bed.

I'm well aware of people using hotels for sex but you don't seem to quite get it  :dash:

For instance there a hotel in Preston that i've punted in numerous times over the years, currently it's great for punting as you can simply walk into the entrance from the road / car park and you're straight into the lift, reception is on the 1st floor but currently you can go all the way from the ground floor right up to the floor with the whore without any worry of being challenged by anyone
I believe there is however a restriction in that at 10pm the lift only goes up to the 1st floor and basically the doors open so you then have to exit the lift and step out of it at which point you are face to face with reception and risk if it's quiet "Hello sit how can I help you"  :scare:
You may not get challenged or you may be able to keep cool and blag it but most people don't / won't want the potential agro

Now imagine after all these incidents they have a review on customer safety and someone sits there and says i'm not sure we should be letting anyone / everyone gain access to the rooms without coming through reception and they permanently change it to be like the after 10pm scenario

As for only wanting to stop the wrong uns so don't look like one i'm sure there are plenty of dodgy people who don't look dodgy

There have been numerous examples / stories about issues happening in hotels on the news and now it's out in the open more people happy to share their experiences across multiple hotel chains, sure in one instance the attacker may have known the girl but lots where they didn't

Seems like victim blaming saying that there's a deadlock or safety chain on the door but she hadn't used it

When I stay in hotels I always put the deadlock or chain on. It's just auto for me to do it. It's not victim blaming, it's just common sense but I understand when you've had a few drinks then you might forget.

I think these incidents are down to poor safety procedures by the hotels. I don't think it will lead to all hotels stopping visitors. I have had a couple of run ins with hotel receptions including being followed on the stairs and challenged. Nothing bad happened in either case and I learned how to better handle those situations.

These day's, you'd be lucky to find a receptionist at either of the two "budget" chains, that's one way they keep prices lower than their competitors.
From what others have said, it seems the Hotel did as much as they could to check this guy's bona fides - I would have added a call to the occupant to check, but unless they have a mobile number they can't. I don't remember seeing a house phone in Travelodge rooms, but I could be wrong.
At least this scumbag is where he belongs now.

The hotels that are popular with WGs know exactly what is going on.

The one near must have 5-6 WGs in there on any given day and it’s super obvious because who the hell else would look like that to book a room for just the day, and keep asking room service for extra towels.

Yeah, there's one near LHR that has such a reputation for having SPa staying there it was known as the local brothel!

And there was me thinking they may have checked in wearing normal civvy clothes, didn't realise they went into reception wearing lingerie and stripper heels with a butt plug up their arse and holding a whip

Just walk with confidence like you’re staying there and ignore the staff. If you’re interacting with the receptionist asking questions you’re an idiot. I usually have a beer in the hotel bar an hour before the punt if they’re staying at a hotel

I was using dayuse hotels to meet up with a lady I was having an affair with. On one occasion I was given a card to a already occupied room. When I walked in a guy was sitting on the chair chatting on the phone.
Reception apologised and gave me another room. Later learned its a common mistake in hotels.

Yes - I have experienced the thrill of walking into a room already occupied by a semi-naked couple. Sadly it was a couple older than myself so there was no impulse to stay.

And its got to be at least 7 years now since I used the Campanile in Doncaster with a hot 20 something off Seeking and were challenged by reception staff as I had not got any ID on me!! Luckily SB was so horny she used her ID and paid for the room - she was not going to miss her fuck!!

TL have had other incidents, a receptionist stabbed to death, you may find it by Googling the right words. However TL were simply the end of a very preventable chain in that tragic case.

But some years ago some thieves targeted high end hotels, helping themselves to master keys went through rooms finding valuables left on display.

Use the deadlock, don't leave wallets, phones, car keys visible when away from your room. Use the spy hole.

Punters may wish to consider not leaving door ajar or unlocked for outcalls.

Not punting related but i recently stayed at a hotel, along with another guest I attempted (and failed) to use the self check in.

Waited for the receptionist who issued me my key and off I headed to my room. Fast forward 15 minutes and my door is opening and in walks the guest who I had seen at reception. Seems the receptionist had issued her the same room as me.

After a brief moment where I thought all my fantasies had come true  we laughed about it and she retreated from the room

So yes hotels screw up and TL made a real mess on this occasion.

I guess the rules for punting stay the same, be smart listen to your gut and always have a back story !!!
