I'm based in nanning in china, doesnt seem to be any action here. Anyone have any information where to try or contacts that arent 5+ yrs old?

Best bet is the train to Macau probably!

I don't think flights are easy - but everyone needs to experience travelling at 350kph on the train while the conductor brings you a pair of slippers!
