Not liked by a few on here but I always found him amiable to talk to and had a LOT of very memorable punts especially when Lianne worked there

Strange though I thought it shut down yonks ago

How is it that lots of other brothels/massage parlours are seemingly allowed?
They’re hardly secret

Probably because of their location not causing disturbance to other people cos they're located on industrial estates for example.

Which brothel or brothels did he run?

Most parlours I’ve been to are mid terrace properties surrounded by shops and/or houses

You see a headline like this and you expect it to be about Kevin Garfoot.

His name is Wakelin, not Wakeling. Press and police have got it wrong

And as far as I was aware there was already an outstanding trial waiting to happen since November 2022.

anyway looks like reporting restrictions are in place so best not to say much here

I was thinking of La Maison and GFE in Bury

There's another in Manchester on the end of a block of retail units.

They seem to be places people don't normally want to be. Presumably, this is because they are cheap units to buy or rent and attract less attention from people

I smile when I think about Silver Lady in Eccles. If you walk past it in error and go in the next door along, you find yourself in the local police station!

That's convenient, you can ask for directions to the brothel.

I knew from previous threads / posts there was something previously going on but had forgotten about it, went to his place on Charles St once years ago as an Indi was renting a room there.
I sat waiting for her and he sat there chatting to me, seemed OK but asked an awful lot of questions like he was digging for info about me so I was really careful / guarded with my answers not to give anything away, I did get the feeling he was one of those people who leaves you with a feeling they are slightly odd.

I actually thought Charles St had been bulldozed for the redevelopment but perhaps it's right on the edge  :unknown:

As others have said how come the other places seem to be able to continue without any issues  :unknown: There was one years ago where an underage runaway was found to be working there but seemingly continues operating without issue, perhaps they have pictures of police / councillors in compromising situations

I would say that IMO once the authorities have someone in their sights then they perhaps ignore other things while they focus on the prey they have targeted, a bit like Sandys a well run parlour where the girls were good and all seemed happy getting shut down but other dodgy places at the time like Arabesque were allowed to continue despite it being common knowledge many girls were pissed / coked up and condoms were an optional extra
