I absolutely hate January .

My company think they're doing everyone a favour by paying them two weeks early in December, to help with Xmas. But all that means is it's six weeks between pay days. I am fucking brassic and horny, not a good combination .

I treated myself to one of those vibrating sucking toys to get me off towards the end of last year and I have to say it is brilliant. Or at least it was, I've used it so much the sucking function has gone from new wild nymphet girlfriend mode to worn out couldn't give a fuck wife mode :dash:.

Roll on pay day .

because you get paid early doesn't mean you have to spend it early.

I employ some remote workers from the Philippine's.

I pay them their salary weekly, but it's based on a 13 month year.

13 months salary is mandatory for employees employed there (i.e. by a Philippine employer).

Just before XMAS I pay them a whole months pay on top of their normal weekly wage.

That's very true, but the reality is very different. I wouldn't mind too much if I'd spent it on me, but I haven't I paid for the repairs to my son's car to get it through the mot.

So that's not spending specific to December (i.e. XMAS), so no different to any other month then.

Why does your son have a car, if he can't afford to repair it himself?

I brought a fleshlight the xmas before last, an amazing thingbut the novelty soon wore off

Because he's in the middle of a masters degree and is working all of his spare time to support himself through it. This came out of the blue, we weren't expecting the car to fail.

Ha ha, That sounds very familiar! So far I haven't been able to use the line, "No I can't "lend" (i.e. give) you £500 as I've been saving it up for a mother and daughter Thai threesome!" One day I'm going to suggest that my daughters get themselves a rich sugar daddy each so their poor old dad can spend his hard-earned on getting his helmet wet instead.

I hope for you it leads to something that pays well, for a future payback  ;)

He's planning on becoming a commercial solicitor, it's bloody silly money they're on. I worked for a company a few years ago that had to use one to sort out the lease on a commercial property, the woman charged us £250/hour.

I pay more than that.

Most of the work nowadays is done by paralegals, which they should charge out at a lower rate. If a qualified Senior Solicitor or partner is doing the work it's more for their part.

M&A and City Finance work is around £800 per hour.

To be fair Pilotman it was a few years ago. I always thought they paid a lot for her work, sounds now like they got her on the cheap. £800/hr, I don't mind paying for his car repairs then.  :D

Hopefully AI won't take away this kind of jobs in the future  :scare:

Hopefully AI won't take away this kind of jobs in the future  :scare:

I keep reading about this, about how AI is going to take all these jobs. But look at it from the point of view of any government around the world. Are they really going to allow companies to make millions of people unemployed. Can you imagine what would happen to economies around the world if a major percentage of the people working became unemployed and started claiming benefits. There's 30 odd million people in the UK working, paying income tax and national insurance. Lets imagine what would happen if 10 million people became unemployed thanks to AI. Tax revenue would collapse, NI would go with it, vat revenue would drop due to lack of people spending. There'd be a huge surge in universal credit, running into tens of billions of pounds per year. The country would drop into a deep recession or even a depression. Public services would come under a massive strain. Poverty and homelessness would rise dramatically. Businesses would start failing, stocks and shares would start failing, the value of the pound would drop like a stone. Banks would see a rise in defaults and investment would dry up. Governments would come under massive pressure to stop AI and safeguard jobs. And with the governments income drying up from taxes they would be forced to bring in laws to limit AI and it use.

There'll always be some groups of people who's livelihood with end with any emerging technology. But AI taking nearly everyone's job, I don't see it. It'll become a tool like everything else, something to be used and put a side.

February and March means a break from the monthly council tax.
As I live in a moated dwelling minus portcullis cos as you all know. Portcullis and drawbridges increase the council tax horrendously. I put that extra bit of savings towards a four hour session in April.
Always something to look forward too 🤷🏼

Roll on Christmas 👍🏻

I see the Easter eggs are already in the shops as soon as Christmas is done and dusted
I hate January because my car insurance, Road Tax, and car service and mot are due. Coming so soon after Christmas impacts my punting funds so January is almost certainly a punting free month for me .  :dash:
Yes I could arrange it that the road tax is done in June by taxing it for six months or leaving the car service for another few weeks but I hate driving it with that annoying car service due warning message on.

You can buy an OBD tool and clear it yourself.

Handy if you want to service your own car, as well as a few other features they can activate.
