I’ve spoken to numerous Thai Tourers and this hasn’t been the case so not sure if your conversation got lost in translation?

From my conversations the process is that the maid/helper (more often than not female) takes a cut of the base rate. So if £80 per h/h then they take anywhere between 10-20% (£8-16). The rest goes to the SP. All extras are 100% for the SP.

The maid may also provide a bill at the end of the week for sms messages, plus advertising, travel and accommodation if arranged.

This is one of the reasons why my preference is to find the tourers who do their own comms. It means that the cut they have to pay the maid is much smaller (pretty much a bill for Vivastreet and AW adverts and then travel and accommodation).

I doubt very much that the maid is taking the full base rate. If the SP is seeing 8 customers a day for h/h that’s £640 per day before anything else for doing nothing.
