Report suspicious phone calls and text messages free of charge to 7726.

To report a phone call, simply send a text to 7726 with the word ‘Call’ followed by the scam caller’s number.

To report a text message :

press and hold the message until the option to ‘Forward’ appears
when the ‘To’ field appears, type the number 7726
press send
once you’ve sent it, you’ll receive a reply asking you to reply with the scam texter’s number – which you’re safe to do
To report a message received via a messaging app:

I think he means we don't need a new thread every time someone gets one of these calls. The last one was only in December.

I had it late last year, same kind of threats, “Dave” was his name apparently, so I changed the sim and moved on…. This actually highlights the importance of a punting phone and/or sim and not using your punting number to sign up to any social media using the number. - realistically though, even changing the sim is probably overkill - ignore it &  block and move on. The dickheads are nothing but chancers. They make out they are like Rambo but are probably about as dangerous as a drunken Mr Bean.

Yep, it's a bit silly, the fuss that is made of these calls.

In the 80s, when the Northern Ireland Troubles were in full swing, a friend of my mother, worked  as a call handler for a high profile charity, that the Provisional IRA used to phone in bomb warnings to. Their MO was to be very aggressive, swearing and shouting to get the attention of the call handler, time was always very, very, short, and the info had to be passed on immediatley. The bomb would then explode at whatever location it was planted, often  with deaths and injuries. My mum's friend took such a call and it shook her up a bit.

I think some of the punters on here would shit themselves if they had to deal with real terrorists, going by the way they react to "Sergi Threat Scammers"...
