Author Topic: Bangkok & Pattaya around Xmas time  (Read 1829 times)

As this will be the first year I'll be alone this Christmas, ( no job and no partner and other family are all busy elsewhere)
I'm considering taking a trip to Thailand for the week and to escape the festivities.

Has anyone been around this time that can confirm what it's like?

I've never been before but it's on my list of places to go and experience.

Any tips would be welcomed, places to stay, sights to see, itinerary for a week etc.

In my experience it is probably the busiest time of year (which is not necessarily a bad thing)

I would personally say go for it… is it a week in Thailand 7 days? Leave uk Friday night flight direct and take the Sunday morning flight back from into LHR 8.00pm? So you could have a great week in Bangkok lots to do sights, bars, massage, street girls, Nura massage, clubs, Nanna plaza and Soi cowboy. Shopping food restaurants temples. Go gos, bj bars, Thai friendly girls…..Bangkok is magical.. take a hotel in between Soi cowboy and Nanna plaza and you’ll be all good.

You could head to (2 hours from Bangkok) Pattaya same as above and you will have the sea.  soi 6 and walking street and lots more you also have the gents clubs…

All I would say if you’re not a seasoned traveler or been to Asia it is totally amazing but it’s full throttle, lovely people. You will need to do some serious research and just read the posts that we have done.

Happy travels

Thanks for the tips!
I've been looking at other posts all year and got a good idea what to expect.
As I'll be coming from the UK, is it recommended to get a jag from the doctor for mosquito bites etc? Or is that overreacting haha
Also, how easy is it to get things like PrEP and Viagra at the pharmacies there?

I’d not be too concerned about malaria unless you’re going to head towards Cambodia border? 7/11 have spray which is good but Bangkok you’ll be fine it’s not the wet season at Xmas time. The only other thing is you could talk doxycycline? Antibiotics good for keeping stds from oral sex… I’d always take my own condoms even to a massage parlour as they are mostly geared up for little Asians…
I don’t need any help at the moment in the third leg department but there will s definitely a post about getting viagra in Thailand! 6 months ago.
Happy travels

I went to Pattaya myself in Aug and it was one of the best trip. I am planning to go again for a week during Christmas time. :)

If you do go over the Christmas week, maybe we could meet up!

With a week till break up for holidays, flight and hotel prices will be very expensive or be long layovers.
Really need to book a long time in advance for good prices.

Either way enjoy your break, personally 7 days isn’t enough to get over jet lag etc.

Xmas is high-high season, so hotels will be at their most expensive (but still reasonable in comparison to the UK). Flights will be expensive.
Whilst it means that there will be more punters around, the girls know this and it is rare for girls to 'go home' during this period.
It is the dry season, so it will be hot with less likelihood of rain.
You will still know it is Christmas, without it constantly being rammed down your throat.

People do go to Thailand for just 7 days, but by the time that you have travelled there, jet lag etc it might feel very rushed. I would say that you need at least 10 days.

Other than that, you will have the time of your life........

In Pattaya, Viagra comes to you! There will be sellers walking around bars offering it to you. Otherwise, dead easy to get from Pharmacies. Never tried to buy PrEP in Thailand. Maybe just visit a Sexual Health clinic UK before you leave.
