Author Topic: Adultwork - Message read but not logged in  (Read 1411 times)

Hi guys, just wanted to check if anyone know possible reason for this.

I sent a message on Adultwork which is shown as Read by the WG but their Last Logged in timestamp is way in the past. I always thought that you get timed out after 20 mins and need to login again for reading messages, etc. So any reasons you know of for this happening?

they have their AW messages automatically forwarded to their e-mail account

It doesn't auto log you out anymore after 20 minutes so as long as you don't actually log out or lose internet connection you can stay logged in and the last log in time could be ages ago

I’m still being logged out using it on my phone. Sometimes allowing a longer period but still throwing me out after an hour or so

Yes but this doesn't render the message within AW as read, it still appears as unread until the recipient logs in and opens the email in AW.

As I write this, I'm looking at the Adult Work profile of a girl whose “Last Login” date is given as 25 October.  Yet, on my "E-Mails and Bookings" page, an e-mail I sent her on 26 October is marked as having been read at 1.08 am on 29 October, with a reply timed and dated five minutes later.  A similar experience to the OP's.

Reply #2 provides the explanation.  Blackpool Rock has solved the mystery.

However, this new principle of AW profiles remaining permanently logged in seems to me an odd one.  I’m not clear what it's meant to achieve, other than saving people ten seconds when they go to AW.

And what it certainly does is to remove the evidence of how “active” a girl actually is.  Someone surveying the profile to which I have referred would think that the girl hasn’t been near her profile for ten days, and is therefore not currently escorting.  But, for all we know, she may have been there twice a day every day.

This could affect a girl’s business.

Also the “permanently logged in” policy seems to be applied inconsistently, as Mstar86 has identified.  Possibly a profile is more likely to be logged out if it's accessed from a mobile rather than from a computer?

This might explain why most “active” girls on my Tepid List appear as having logged in today or yesterday.  So either they’re regularly logging themselves out (and then logging in again later or the next day), or AW's doing it.

This further muddies the waters.

It all seems a bit of a mess.

Well personally it's always fucking annoying to have typed a reply on a phone screen, then press submit and find you've gone over the time limit, the finely crafted missive has been lost to the ether etc.

But yeah, AW is a mess generally.

A strange decision by AW. The logged on function is not worth paying for.
