TK, it might be good for your to pause and get your story straight and then give it to us in one go if you wish to. It's you that is making the accusations after all, and asking for sweet sympathy won't go so far when such serious matters are at stake. As James has pointed out, so far it is far too easy to pull to bits what you are saying. Take a pause. Have a look at why, as an experienced and capable prossie, you didn't follow proper security procedure. Why you had no back up. What was the £500 for, specifically. Why would you need it to go on holiday if you had already planned your holiday before you had this booking. Why were you taken away in handcuffs. I'm not pre-judging anything, and presumably no charges are being made so there's not a lot of proof of anything. But in terms of your (and anyone else's) dignity and self-respect there's still a lot at stake.
I think what Marmalade is saying is spot on, sit down, if you want to put your story across, write in microsoft word first. Read it back, read it again, make sure what you are saying is factual (from your view point) and when you are ready to post, copy and paste it into here. We do this at work all the time in awkward situations where we may say something rash in the heat of the moment in an email, give yourself some time to digest what you are writing before throwing it to the public domain. I think things may get worse before they get better, so be careful how you react & don't make rash posts that will get picked apart in the heat of the moment.
Or retain a dignified silence!
Maybe exchange some PM's with Enzio and emily to arrange how to get the remainder of your cash sans Taxi fee's from behind the kettle. Then have a fab holiday and take stock on the situation and how it can be avoided in the future.
