Planned strike action on the London Underground and DLR next week

I thought I would post this from TFL as it may affect people's punting plans for next week. "Forewarned is forearmed":
 
"Due to planned strike action, severe disruption is expected on the London Underground between Sunday 7 and Friday 12 September, and on DLR services on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 September.

If you need to travel, plan ahead, allow more time for your journey, check our website or use the TfL Go app . You can sign up for notifications in TfL Go to get alerts for major disruptions to travel.

If these strikes go ahead, the impact of this strike action is as follows:

    Sunday 7 September - disruption across the Tube network with limited services running. Tube journeys to be completed by 18:00
    Monday 8 until Thursday 11 September - little or no service expected across London Underground. Any services that do run will start later than usual, with no service before 08:00. Any journeys should be completed by 18:00
    Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 September - no service expected on the DLR
    Friday 12 September - no service before 08:00, with a good service on all lines expected by late morning

Other services, including the Elizabeth line, London Overground and Trams, will be operating but will be extremely busy. These services may be unable to stop at all stations or run to their normal destinations due to Tube station closures.

Strike action will also affect some bus routes in west, northwest and southwest London from 05:00 on Friday 12 until 05:00 on Monday 15 September.

Tell me about it.  If it goes ahead, it will mean I have to postpone a planned meet that I had arranged for next week. Major disappointment, highly inconvenient and a real piss boiler.

Such a pain, if it drags on into November and December then the impact on hospitality in their pre-Christmas period will be massive.

Had sympathy for them when it was over poor working conditions or they were fighting against unfair dismissal, but this latest round seems only to be about more money and working less hours (but still being allowed overtime if they want). Also, if what the Standard says is true about "Since 2020 they have enjoyed cumulative pay rises of about 25 per cent – including 8.4 per cent in 2022, 6.6 per cent in 2023 and 4.6 per cent last year – with a further 3.4 per cent on the table for the current 2025/26 financial year" then I think they're really taking the piss.

If they get a lower working hours per week and work the same hours, then the extra hours are over time at a higher rate ...

Might have had empathy for them once upon a time. But now…… to cause such severe problems to so many by striking.

Nope... my neighbour works in a train station.. ive had this debate with him so many times (about salary and strikes). He gets around 60k a year, the drivers get average 80k-140k a year, his complaint is they have to work anti social hours. I told him theres plenty of people that will hapilly work those hours for much a lower salary.

I was shocked to hear there pension scheme, they get 6 times more then what they contribute. Still there not satisfied.

Way too overpaid.. Lucky they have a union rather then the hr depth. I have zero sympathy
