I reckon the YMMV side of things is probably more than 20% of reviews, and fair enough too. If you’ve had a great time you should share it. My only small point (and maybe I’m preaching to the choir, but I’m new here so thought I’d say it) is that a lot of the enthusiasm and quality you get in punting, same as in life, seems to come down to how you look. We don’t really know what anyone here actually looks like. One guy giving a glowing review could be a 25 year old Brad Pitt lookalike, while a balding 65 year old with a belly might go in expecting the same and end up disappointed. That bit often gets skipped over when notes are exchanged, perhaps because it’s just taken as understood?
If your experiences line up with positive reviews, that is great. For a small subset of us, it won't always be like that. Not to play the small violin, you take what you get, accept it, and roll with it.
