Sad story on the news about a big fire at a former RAF base near Bicester Oxfordshire. Two fireman and a civilian have lost their lives. Two other firfighters seriously hurt and taken to hospital. The Blaze started at a classic car and  aircraft restoration factory on the former RAF Base. We often don't appreciate the work our emergency services do and sometimes they  make the ultimate sacrifice. RIP to the men involved .

very sad ! we often take our emergency workers* for granted and forget that they all (but particularly fire and rescue and the police) face life threatening risks pretty much most days!

I understand that a 4th person has now died

* and RNLI lifeboat crew too - who are all volunteers

I had reason to attend The Firefighters Memorial Day service at St Paul's Cathedral on 4th May.

From what I can gather the 2 fire fighters who died were attempting to rescue the civilian Mr Chester.

The firefighters were Martyn Sadler and Jennie Logan.

R.I.P.
