External Link/Members OnlyAfter "rip off" experiences at East Street & Shirehampton in 2023, I didn't visit any Thai shops in 2024.
Recently I foolishly went to Chiangmai in Old Market.
Although it's location is not ideal, ie with only one shop between them and an old style (FS) Massage Parlour,; a busy road with lots of traffic passing or queuing for a large roundabout; and close to a bus "hub" (for want of a better word), it's "subdued" shop front makes it fairly straightforward for locals to enter without being too concerned.
Inside 2 ladies at reception, one wearing a black puffer jacket and obviously in charge, the other dispatched to get a room ready.
Long black corridor ahead with several rooms to the left, a toilet on the right opposite the room I was allocated to.
£50 for massage, which was good, but another "rip off" B2B.
She insisted on £80 ... but then she was determined to finish it as quick as possible despite my efforts to get her to slow down.
Having got dressed, and paid her the £80, I politely made it clear that I didn't consider it was £80 well spent. She was apologetic and tried to excuse it with a comment that she was part-time and the "boss" was demanding, a tyrant (I can't remember her exact words but that was the gist of it)
I'm not inclined to return and if I did it would only be for 30 minutes and HE.
