punting phone = no risk of that ever happening

Offline Taggart

I've two phones, one synced to the car's bluetooth system, the other - the punting phone - not, for obvious reasons.

The technology is getting too smart for many of us, and any punter who does not have a separate phone, that is protected by a lock code and kept hidden from a significant other, is asking for big trouble.

After every punt, I delete all text messages and call lists, and as a PAYG, has no bills or paper trail. It is funded from a separate online bank account too. As the phone is never backed up, has no music and not used for emails, I also do a full reset every now and then as an added security precaution.

I have the new ford and luckily the text messaging doesn't work with the iPhone 4 but my daughter has the Galaxy s4 and it read out an embarrassing message that wasn't meant for me to listen to lol. Hence why she doesn't sync to the car anymore lol. Xx

I'm still amazed that this issue keeps coming up.

Punting phone every time !!!!!

This is the reason I have a 6 year old 'normal' phone for punting.

Last month I was sitting outside my place of work in the company vehicle fiddling with the integrated Bluetooth system when suddenly all the people currently inside the building (oblivious to what was happening in their trouser pocket) who'd been previously dumb enough to hook up to this handsfree thing had their entire address book, names and numbers displayed for my perusal. Fortunately for them, there were no cumsluts or slutty Susan's listed.  :D

Why do people constantly think they can out smart these smart phones?  :wackogirl:

Nokia - the punters phone of choice !  Amongst various bluetooth / interweb / whatsapp / viber / location [& fuck knows what else] connected benefits IE NOT CONNECTED, there is the added benefit of being to explain away why a car charger in the glovebox to OH "fuck knows how long that's been there"

Only if your daft enough to by a ford, kuga is  a step up.  Then play your text messages to your bird through your car stereo.  There is not a stupidity level high enough to accommodate your next step... Maybe get a sub-woofer in the back of your kuga so everyone can hear it ?  :unknown:

It is my understanding that even considering buying a Dagenham Dustbin [especially a Kuga], let alone owning one, comes with automatic entry onto SirF's very popular thread !

There's nothing wrong with a Ford.

Go on the Honest John website and look at the major faults that affect VW/Skoda/Audi/Seat on oil pump failure, cam belt failures and ABS pump failure. Then look BMW and the problems with their N47 engines.  Supreme German engineering?  Rushed, and untested crap.

Pegueot/Renault/Citroen - enjoy the electrical gremlins

Fiat - Fix it again tomorrow

Toyota - masters of the recall

Vauxhall - plastic fantastic.

Which doesnt leave a lot.

So more mile high than dogging then ?
Reckon Taggart is the latter - along with his Haynes manual in the glove-box.  He can then recite useless facts about which cars are the most reliable.  Not much chance of the back seat not working in most motors.  Although the reclining mechanism on the front seats in vauxhalls can present a problem apparently

What with all the plastic used during the manufacturing process.
