I've had a look through first to see if there are recent discussions on the good old blue pill - Viagra/Sildenafil - but not much chat recently so forgive me for starting another thread...

I've been unwell for a couple of months but I am looking to get back into action and planning a foray in a couple of weeks. I tried to wean myself off Sildenafil (first started after a floppy dick incident with Michelle Independent - I mean, if she couldn't get me rock hard then I needed help!)  Last year, I reduced the dose but had a mild panic as there was a difficult 10 minutes or so of soft dick (and this was with a lovely young filly, so not as if I didn't want it) so went back up to 100mg.   This also seems to have the effect of making me last longer which is no bad thing and I don't mind the side effects.

So... the point is not whether to try again, but for those who do use this, I am planning a lunch before any action.  Should I take on an empty stomach and then eat (probably a couple of hours before I get down to business) or should I eat and then slip a pill in?  I know that most advice says that eating will reduce the effects, but wondered if having it enter the bloodstream before food would make a difference and it it would then last 3-4 hours?

You should see advice from your GP. 100 mg is the maximum recommended dose for 24 hrs. The maximum dose also means the maximum chance of side effects.  Read the patient information leaflet for the medication.

I find that any major food , when blue pill taken before or after, makes the desired effect reduced. I generally like to punt midday/ early afternoon and take a pill and some paracetamol to negate blue pill headache a couple of hours before the punt. I have a light breakfast and then a protein shake on the way to the punt...works a treat for me but YMMV.
I like to go for a nosh after the booking, after she has noshed me off as it were  :D

The expert guidance is that sildenafil is more effective if taken on an empty stomach, and this view has been well supported in numerous previous threads.

Save your nosh up until after you've shot your load.  :hi:

or at least make it a very light lunch - and with no or small amounts of fat content as possible. And avoid alcohol.  (having read a few of the past threads on here - these seems to be the overall opinion of guys on here about the effectiveness of the little blue pill. its also my personal experience of sildenafil. )

Yes I try to take it on an empty or almost empty stomach about an hour before punting so it's has a proper chance to take effect and not be on the wane, if i've just come out of the gym I do sometimes eat a banana just to keep me going until after the punt then it's Man Vs Food  :drinks:

If you must eat before hand then I believe the advice is to avoid fatty foods

Another option may be to split the pill taking half before food and then the other half with the food so that you het an initial hit and then a slower release top up  :unknown:

I tend to use Tadalafil (the weekender), Viagra always gives me a stonking headache ..

I sometimes pop it the day before, as it lasts 36 hours .. works for me.

How hard is it to miss lunch before a meet ?

Thanks for all the advice - much appreciated - to answer the last point, I am taking the young lady out to lunch as part of the afternoon of fun.  But, I'm not drinking anyway atm and I will avoid fatty food and go for something light.

Problem is sildenafil is best taken around 1-2 hours before you do the act, but that is going to conflict with your need to eat with her unless you fuck first and eat later.
Discuss it with your GP, but I'd be inclined to switch to Tadalafil which has a much longer active period in the body, usually 24 hours+.
You can usually take that in the morning and it'll be effective all day - though my experience is take it after you bathe or shower

So, here's my results - tried the Sildenafil before lunch and it was a so so affair when I got down to it a few hours later - definitely not the same results as on an empty stomach and having sex within a couple of hours.

I ordered some Tadalfil (Cialis) and tried that as it was a similar setup - having a leisurely lunch and then getting down to it and I started to worry that I only had a partial but then it all seemed to kick in and worked out OK.  Still not as hard and as long lasting and I do need to think about the psychology and mental state.

have you tried having a blood test and looking at your hormone levels? if its that much of a struggle to get hard maybe your testosterone is low or estrodial high.

Thanks - that's a good thought.  I tried going through the "mojo" programme as I wonder if a lot of it is in my head and worry about failing to perform. TBH once I get going, it is fine and I had a fantastic session but at my age, it's always good to get an MOT...

I suggest speaking to your GP as there are a number of reasons for ED and some are mental and others are physical health. Get a check up with a full blood test.

I would suggest you reread the rules that you agreed to when you signed up. Information is for everyone not just a select few.

Indeed it is espically getting on in years! Say 50 odd or so.

Interesting re the Tosterone levels that isnt a difficult test to do, just ask your GP for his/her opinion on the matter..

FWIW i've had times like that when its all gone tits up or should that be down?? And yet other times its all been fine depends on the girl as well one with a good attiude is well worth it. One disinterested can destory that sometimes frail confidence we have in later years..

As to grub yes well known effect the gut absorbtion and fatty foods slow that down they can. Maybe a few lettuice leaves rabbits don't seem to have any bother;)

One thing thats not that often mentioned is that sometimes ED drugs can make it harder to cum, or at least it seems to take longer.
