Fully agree. Seems like an incredibly irresponsible thing to do and were I in her shoes I would not be happy. I can understand maybe having a quick drink before the punt (not that I've ever done this) as with HOD there are a couple of pubs very close by if you arrive very early but getting yourself to the point where you mention it was affecting your ability to perform is not on.
