Author Topic: Outcall Hotel Recommendations in Glasgow  (Read 13470 times)

Offline nombre

Hi all, I have never done an outcall and I’m looking for a hotel in or near Glasgow city centre that meets a few specific criteria:

It should be reasonably priced.
The hotel’s entry and lifts shouldn’t require a key card for access.
Basically punting friendly

Feel free to throw in some recommendations for Edinburgh city centre (or near by)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.

Village Hotel

Up to 4 hours free parking for visitors and no key card was needed in the lift when I visited recently

Offline big-al93

Voco Grand, right beside central station.

Depends on when you’re looking for.
If it’s a daytime booking then check dayuse website
As well as the 3 previously mentioned there’s Hilton Garden, Leonardo (nee jurys), Marriott, indigo, Britannia…
Although if it matters to you the Britannia and motel one are a significant step down from the others in terms of decor and ambiance.

Thanks for all the info guys. I think I like the sound of Leonardo and Village Hotel

Is that the Motel One on the opposite corner from the Radisson Blue? I’d have thought that would be ok - it’s fairly fresh and new, no?  I’ve stayed in one in London and it was pretty nice tbh - sort of Premier Inn level, but brighter decor.

I’d be interested to hear why you’d downgrade it?

Tbf, any Britannia is bound to be a shithole! They consistently win “Worst hotel group of the year”!

That’s the one mate.
It’s not a shithole, but the general decor in the rooms looks cheaper, the fixtures/fittings feel flimsy and the rooms are a wee bit pokey.
Nothing ridiculous, but I prefer the other hotels mentioned in the thread.

Sorry to bump a dead thread. But is dayuse legit?

Offline JamesScott

Yes and very easy to use, get the Dayuse app, all the top hotel accept it.
Booking can be cancelled an hour before check in.
I phoned the Double Tree Hilton to ask about daytime bookings and they told me to use Dayuse
I've used it many times

Offline Keema

Dayuse is completely legit - the staff at the hotel don't say anything when you book in apart from in one case, oh we don't get many Dayuse bookings. They will want to see your ID and apart from your £5 to Dayuse will need a card to pay for the room and in one 5* hotel I used a holding deposit in case I raided the mini-bar. When you check out they'll ask if you want a receipt.

Someone listed Indigo in Glasgow as a possibility, while it's pleasant inside any 'guest' would have to walk closely past reception, although as an alternative you could meet up in the bar area.

Dayuse is fine for Edinburgh and Glasgow although rooms can become scarcer nearer your actual intended meeting date depending on events happening nearby.

When you're checking out they'll ask if you want a receipt.

One to add to the list
Had an incall at the Sandman Hotel last week.
2 things stood out
The bed was fucking huuuge and the shower was nicely sized too. Would be perfect for pissing, if one was that way inclined.. 💧 👄 💦 😅

Costs about £90 for an overnight booking which is reasonable. I am assuming it doesn't require a keycard for lifts?

Offline Easygoingdude

Dayuse - I've used plenty of times in Edinburgh without any hassle. Simply pay when you arrive and sorted. I don't even bother checking out, just leave.

But definitely legit and would recommend. You may get a comment from reception about using Dayuse but I always state that I am killing time before a late afternoon flight.

I’ve been also. No cards for lifts.
No passing reception either as I recall.
It’s a big anonymous place and busy too. Perfect👌🏼

Aye there’s a side entrance that bypasses reception.
Unfortunately the only big mirror in the room is not visible from the bed, but the mirror placement in the shower would allow one to watch whatever was occurring in there.

Looking at booking the Doubletree Hilton Glasgow central for an outcall. Anyone know if it's punting friendly?

PC there is an AC Marriott in George st

Ah that’s a new one to me :hi:
Their website doesn’t say it’s good for outcalls - poor website design.  :music:

Offline Problem Child

New one to me as well. 🙌
Anyone been there?
Funnily enough, used the Hilton Double Tree last week for an outcall. Nice enough place, but as mentioned you need a key card to exit the stairwell/lift area. Not an issue if you’re out calling there, just meet them at the stairs or the bar for a drink.

Delta Hotel at the end of Corstorphine doesn't need cards either. Also has parking and good for Dayuse.

Piggybacking this thread - any thoughts on the Clayton hotel? Videos and pictures make it look like a good setup!

Anyone used piccolo hotel got a gig in glasgow soon and thinking of an outcall punt afterwards.

It’s not great access wise. Two separate blocks with keycarded lift either end of the hotel. Walk past reception down into the bar where lifts are either end. One set is behind a keycarded door that looks like an exit.
On the plus side. It’s usually busy with bus tours. So lots of folk wandering around lost. The floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Clyde are a voyeurs wet dream. Big walk in showers. Comfy big beds and decent floor space by the window. Well soundproofed rooms. Usually mid market price

Ooft no. All the wee hotels up there are dives. Go for the sandman a few minutes walk into the city from there.

Offline bigmike32

Thank you its just for 1 night its cheap and cheerful so will just have to do. Got the sandman booked for early next year.

Offline Problem Child

Anyone kno of any Glasgow hotels that have a mirror (preferably large) that you can see from the bed?
Jury’s used to, but since they changed to Leonardos that’s all changed.
Took my own advice and booked sandman recently. Turns out it wasn’t a standard room I had Been in so not  all I hoped it to be.
DGAF about key cards just want a big mirror.

Motel one

Depending on time of day the Motel One lifts are key operated (iirc between 10pm and 8am) so if its a day punt not really a problem but late at night it might mean meeting the lady in the bar
