On Carvaths blog he publishes a letter he got from the police in Greater Manchester in May this year in response to his concerns about why Sandys is in operation, they said the information he provided would be passed on, www.carvath.blogspot.com

Tut, tut, smithy. I imagine the Police would gladly tolerate well-run establishments on their turf which cooperate with the Police, do proper checks of the girls' right to work in this country, provide the escorts with a relatively safe environment, and allow the girls to work in their own way. If good parlours are closed down they could be replaced by undesirable members of the gangland fraternity. I think most of us accept that HoD have helped raise standards in an industry full of sharks. Any speculation about backhanders is unfounded and unfair.

I did make clear it was speculation and i have no information what the exact arrangements are. I certainly have nothing but praise for HOD as they offer good service, i was merely answering what my opinion is in general. The police certainly dont allow something clearly illegal to operate for any reason except it suits them. Prostitution is a murky world so who knows what really goes on.

How have the HoD parlours survived so long then?

"In investigating cases of controlling prostitution, the police may raid and disrupt brothels where local police policy previously had been one of toleration of off street prostitution."

This must rank among the less intelligent pieces of policy from Mr Keith Starmer.

I think as long as ther are no complaints, the establishment keeps a low profile, is not involved in other crime such as drugs, then 'massage parlours' are tolerated.  I agree that the local police policy can always change but in general the police have bigger fish to fry.  Just because a shop-front has a sign saying 'massage' is not sufficient evidence for a raid.  Seems that way in my area - although I prefer indies to massage parlours.

Just an update on this thread. The police are looking at a case of serious money laundering involving Tanja Wieck but her mother Sharmi Wieck who runs a series of beauty salons called Sharmi Joseph. When Tanja's husband found out she was a high class prostitute they argued and she ended up beating him so he called the police.

The police are not only going to confiscate the Warfield, Julias Hill property but also the Station Road, Henley property.
It looks like Tanja a former air stewardess gained quite a few high profile clients including celebrities.

How do you manage to evaluate your services - sex - at £20,000 a week?
"How do you justify that?"

Why didn't she just say "That's capitalism, bitch.  How do the Defence and Prosecution's QCs justify charging £500 an hour?"

Did you not see the date of this thread?

Why on Earth would anyone want to resurrect a three year old thread?

What's your motive?

She should've demanded cash in advance and called Saul to launder it.  "If they can get Al Capone for tax evasion, they can get you"
