External Link/Members OnlyNeutral might seem a little unfair to some, but I found the experience a little underwhelming and felt overcharged.
£100+ (!) for 30 min 4-hand massage with 4-hand HR.
Not had a four-hand massage for a long while, and after reading reviews here, thought I'd give this place a try. Phoned ahead, arrived to a very nicely kept shop. I was put in the back room, which weirdly doubles as a kitchenette area. Incidentally I was glad to see that the reception area table now had a plaster wall section and door of it's own put around. That weird layout of having a table right next to the reception area with just a curtain always put me off going. Anyway...
There was the manager and a younger masseuse, who spoke barely any English. During the massage, the manager was the more experienced, but was clearly going through the motions, chewing gum, making 'sexy' talk, gestures, answering the phone, upselling b2b etc. The HR happened about 15-20 mins in, which was nice and intense, if a bit rushed. Then while the massage continued, the other girl left to see to another customer. To be fair, the manager gave me a little extra time because of this, but I think her general attitude -I thought I had the right cash, but was short a little, and had to stand there sorting through change like a lemon for the sake of £5- made everything a bit underwhelming. I go to have a massage to feel better, not to feel like I've been a slight inconvenience to be fleeced of literal pennies.
I have no plans to return, but it is a nice shop offering a professional service so might return, but only as a plan B and to have a regular 1hr massage. My first choice in Sunderland has always been the one on the corner opposite the bowling alley. Not as nice, but much more cosy rooms and little-to no upselling.
