The best thing you can do in Chester for a short notice booking is get the train to Crewe and go to one of the parlours. It's hard enough to find something good in Chester nowadays without it being last minute.

As for OP, agree you should have walked but understand it's a lot easier to say that here than to actually do it. Needless to say this review will save a few punters some time, money and effort.
