Why would girls in Romania have a UK number? Scam?

I’m looking for a SB on the sugar dating apps & when asking for their WhatsApp loads are giving me a UK number (beginning with 07 rather than +44) & when I ask why do you have one they don’t reply.
Is this some sort of scam run by the sergies living in the UK?

+44 is the UK country code. I guess some don't need it. Maybe WhatsApp made a change to add it automatically?

Perhaps they had a UK number when they setup their WhatsApp?

Or maybe you are correct and it's a scam?

If the girls have been past visitors to the UK then it's quite possible they set up a WhatsApp account using a UK number.
Just because they've gone back to Romania is no reason for them to abandon the account - it will carry on working even if they stop using the SIM card

That’s true but it seems strange that about 20% of them are giving me UK numbers, I’ve never had this in any other European country & they go radio silent when I question them about it

but more Romanians whore in the UK than from other countries.

Of course it could all just be a big deposit scam - there's some evidence that's the way Romanian gangs are moving: save costs by removing  the girl from the equation, just live off the deposits

Ok I feel stupid 🙈 the Romanian numbers start with +407 & some girls have been writing it as 07 so I thought it was a Uk number when it wasn’t 🙈😂
