Author Topic: Porn turning me Bisexual ?  (Read 2139 times)

I've watched a lot of Porn, I think since the age of 14 or 15, I've been watching porn, not just once a week, most likely around 3 - 4 times a week for the last 9 years. so I've seen a lot of naked woman on film, but also naked men.. also the last couple of years I have been watching shemale porn.

I've heard that Porn can re wire your brain and basically it fucks you up mentally. makes you into stuff you wouldn't normally be into etc..

now when I'm horny, because girls don't care about getting laid, I'm posting craigslist ads looking to meet up with a guy, it doesn't feel like the real me, but Porn has messed my brain up that I don't care, I just do it because I want to do something with a human and not my right hand.

maybe I have always been bi , maybe I'm just going through a experimental phrase, or maybe it is the Porn.

can anyone else relate to this ?

...and it's a no from me. Hey, but if that's you and how you feel then it is healthy not to deny it. I for one will not be judgemental.

I think the clue was in your name.

If you are into cock who am I to judge  :sarcastic:

Not experienced it personally.

Not seen any reliable experimental evidence in journals i'd trust to say it happens. When you see media reports about "porn rewiring the brain" it tends to be sourced from various religious organisations that regard being gay as a sin, and they are motivated to try to prove that people can be "cured".

There is..of course...more reliable data suggesting that some drugs can effect mental state. So if you're moved onto any new medication recently, may be worth checking any reported side effects.

But... plenty of people are naturally bisexual, and for various reasons come to that realisation relatively late.  I'd say "nothing to worry about"...though we all know that even in our enlightened society a fair number of people can make unpleasant remarks about any departure from their own modes of behaviour.

In fact i get the feeling that a bit of virtual chain pulling is developing  ;)

Not experienced that either...but maybe I'm still in the denial stage!  ;)   :D

I've been to lots of parties where there is cock on display, it has brought out the voyeur in me, but like the hetero porn, you're watching the girl's reactions, imagining yourself in the place of he 'stunt' cock. I can't say I've ever felt the urge to suck another guy or stick my cock in his japseye.

In fact, I remember once having a 3-way conversation at a party, I was getting sucked by a girl in the loveswing while another older guy fucked her. He reckoned at one party he attended, a guy offered to suck him off and he agreed, we were shocked but he said it felt pretty much the same as if a girl did it. This story was enough to shrink my boner and I had to politely make my excuses and leave them to it.

Those Oriental ladyboys are confusing though, they manage to look almost completely femenine...until you notice the tiny dick!  :sarcastic:

Classic. Already getting offended  :dash:

I've pushed my boundaries, though I don't think it was really porn related. Do what makes you happy!

Why would you want to do that? Sounds extremely painful.

Offline leedsman

Oh dear. You can't catch gay. All porn does is numb the excitement of vanilla sex, just like we are no longer content with getting to second base.

If you fancy guys, then you fancy guys. If you fancy them more than you fancy girls, then you are gay. This allows you to wear more fashionable clothes, have a better haircut, enjoy showtunes and have sex with men. Have fun.

What you describe above is called "escalation"... Where you constantly look for something more extreme in your porn. If you sit there for long periods of time looking at porn it basically leads to a deadening of the normal sexual senses and leads you to search for a new thrill. I was hooked on porn at one point and experienced something similar. After reading through the web, the advice was to stop looking at porn. I did and the dulling of my sexual senses reversed.

Think in the end there is no way porn can replace real-life sex - too much porn fucks you up (its not natural after all so its probably going to have a side-effect). And that my friend is probably what is happening to you. Nowadays ill look at porn perhaps twice a week. I also try to have a wank thinking of real life women as opposed to porn - that will prob help you.

Oh, and ignore some of the ignorant responses above. I expect your "escalation" is reversible. Also, despite the above dont think sexuality is black or white - no one is 100% hetero or homo...or thats my view (and you are all entitled to your own!).

Offline PumpAction

Escalation is real. When you're young a page 3 girl is enough to get you off until softcore won't cut it. Watching too much porn does make you need harder and more extreme stuff to get the same enjoyment. I don't think porn makes you post ads seeking encounters with other men though.

This!

Although I do question whether the article that the OP referred to was in the Daily Mail!

Offline Jay-Jay

Don't know really. It may be an age thing. I've tired of porn but then I never really had an interest in the "extreme" stuff. The male form has never had any interest for me but I still crave a fantastic looking female hence punting is a boon. As with the o.p. I suppose, wanking doesn't do it for me anymore but sex with a nubile female still turns me on massively.

Sure... Though if you dont cut the porn and you have escalated to a ridiculous extent, who knows where it would end up. I started looking at some of that ladyboy crap when id escalated and started asking loads of questions about myself! I stopped the porn and the interest in that stuff died.

Offline Barry Shipton

Not from the Daily Mail but real research that over use of porn could lead to erectile dysfunction.

www.tedxtalks.ted.com/video/TEDxGlasgow-Gary-Wilson-The-G-2

Without sounding like and old git when I was a teenager hardcore was a flash of muff in a well thumbed Playboy - escalation meant a trip to Amsterdam when you were over 18

Now porn with midgets, household appliances and strange vegetables are everyday and available instantly so it's pretty easy to escalate.

It's like everything - use it in moderation.

I'm not sure that porn changes your sexuality but it does normalize the more adventurous sexual acts. I used to watch a lot of porn (before I started punting) and over  a 12 month period I changed from looking at plain vanilla to searching out some pretty extreme stuff. Once I started punting, my interest in porn has evaporated (almost) and my sexual interest bounces between plain vanilla and mid-range stuff.

This one

As Leedsman said, you can't catch gay, no matter how much porn you watch (escalation and penile dysfunction is something else). You are born either hetero, bisexual or gay. Simple, don't try to find an 'excuse' or justification for your feelings. Just do what you like (as long as it's legal) and enjoy it.

Not me, i have been watching porn for over 30 years and attended many sex parties where i have obviously seen countless cocks, they do nothing for me, and neither do the guys themselves.

Oops, meant starfish and wrote japseye...brain fart!

Offline Sparquin

I very much doubt that porn is the reason, but I do think it has facilitated feelings that you may have had and suppressed for some time.

I can relate to what you say as I think I might have bi interests but until I started watching porn I denied I had them. Probably wont have sex with a guy and I don't watch gay porn but porn has told me that pretty much anything goes and it is not dirty or smutty necessarily. Which is the opposite of the way I was brought up.

Just accept it for what it is and see where it takes you.

If porn could change your sexual orientation then I would imagine every female from the 80s who likes porn would have turned lesbian as just about every porn film featured two women.

I think you have become desensitised to porn and in turn to sex so it has brought out your real feelings on the subject.  You were probably always gay or bisexual but repressed these feelings due to many factors.  However you are now so desensitised to sex it holds no big deal for you so giving in to your natural urges seems natural as there is no inner stigma for you.  Once you no longer care about something it becomes easier to do it.  If you no longer care much about sex as it does not do much for you it is now easier to do what your mind and body really wanted to do.  Just enjoy it for what it is.  It doesn't matter what your sexual orientation is

By saying you blame it on Porn you are saying there is something wrong about it.  There isn't.  There doesn't need to be blame for liking people of the same sex.  Stop trying to lay blame and just enjoy who you are
