Not sure how wide it has been applied but I have detected a change in the way that AW deal with girls that don't log in for some time. When I did a search this evening I noticed that some profiles were missing - those of girls that hadn't logged in for ages. The search worked as usual this morning so something has changed during the day. I then deselected "escort" from the search criteria and re- searched  - up came all the girls that were missing. Checking a few of their profiles I notice that they had all been set to "erotic content provider" only - no escort, web cam etc.,

Looking at the AW help I found a bit that said that those girls that did not log in for 60 days would have their services set to "erotic content provider" only so it looks like AW are actually doing something about those  old and defunct profiles.  Try it yourself and see if you get similar results for your area.

An interesting development and should lessen the time wasted looking at dead profiles...

Good spot - however when I search I tend to set the search setting to logged-in in the last 7 days

Yes, me too - that's the easiest way to screen out timewaster profiles I think.

Really glad that they have done this finally!!  :yahoo:
I tend to to go about 5-6 pages in before it becomes pointless. Birmingham has about 15 pages btw.

I find that the search function is a bit crap anyway.

I have a saved search set to within 20 miles of home, however if I put the county in as the location it brings up quite a few local SP's who didn't appear in the 20 mile radius search.

They've been doing this for as long as I have been a member there. I mentioned it here on UKP the other day.

Same here, I thought everyone would do that.    :unknown:

I think the search function is fantastic, the girls who appear are crap though.   :bomb:

so how do you search erotic content providers?

I'm going to have to disagree with you.. No, they haven't been applying the rule previously otherwise punters on here would not complain about all the redundant profiles when searching. They firmed up the rule sometime yesterday afternoon. I check my area a couple of times a day and yesterday afternoon was the first time that a whole load of girls disappeared from my standard search criteria. Previous to that there were profiles where girls hadn't logged in for  12 months or more that were still searchable by "escort".

yep agree, if i look at my area SW and each county the numbers in each county have dropped significantly so this is def new and welcomed.  A good move by aw  :drinks:

I think that's because the distance search is based on postcode and some SPs only enter town/city rather than a postcode.

Oh I see! You mean they've actually fixed the broken bit where ticking "Escorts" was erroneously bringing up "Erotic Content Providers" as well. Yeah, that wasn't working for quite a while, glad they've finally got round to mending it.

Again, No!  This isn't rocket science...  AW are converting profiles to "erotic content provider" where the owner has not logged in recently - within 60 days according to their Help section..  Thus selecting "escort" in the search routine now brings up far less girls than previously since those that have been "converted" no longer appear.  In addition to the conversion to erotic content provider, their rates, enjoys list and whether they do incalls / outcalls also disappears.

^^^ This is been happening for as long as I can remember. I have profiles saved to my hotlist, and so have seen the cutoff point where they've gone from Escort or Webcams to "Erotic Content".

This is why! I did think there was a significant drop in profiles around my area today, I just assumed a load of girls were on tour and had moved on but this explains it!

Thank the Lord AdultWork have finally done this, was so annoying wading through 'dead' profiles to find the proper Escorts!

Good point Sub, thanks that's probably why.

I may have got the wrong end of the stick re profiles appearing on AW but I only ever search SP's who have logged on in the last week (or sometimes 2) and there doesn't seem to be a problem.

Without labouring the point... 2 other people have noticed the significant change in numbers when searching today from previously so it is not only me that has spotted this new implementation - or are we all wrong?  Besides this, there have been a few threads on UKP and comments on other threads concerning profiles where the girl hasn't logged in for months or years - this would not be the case if AW had always had the policy in force.

Yeah, but you could always have searched "who have logged in during the past 7 days"
This is/was a non-problem.
Besides which, I strongly suspect that AW are weeding out these dead profiles for their own benefit, not ours.

Its was an irritation for some that planned longer ahead- maybe a business trip in a months time to a new area where you wanted a few options. I am not saying it was a major issue but just that I spotted the change in AW's policy for dealing with dormant accounts.

As an example, If I search for escorts in my shire area I now get 6 pages of results rather than 13 pages. That's 7 pages of crap I no longer have to look at as short list potentials for a few months time..

There will still be girls who have not logged in for ages as if they are part of a group the group manager logs in and can update their profiles without the girl showing as logging in at all.

I also have a duo profile with another Lady and to keep it easier I set up a group with just my profile and the duo profile and I can update the dup profile without it showing as being logged into.  It means emails can still be answered and profiles changes made but without ever being seen as logging in.  These profiles will not be changed to erotic content and will still show up as them not logging in

maybe so but most wgs are independant and not part of groups so I can see today from my County 38-40 less than normal, so a good move to get rid of the dead weight on aw

I noticed it today too, my main hotlist went down from 34 to 26 profiles. The same list regularly bulges by 6-10 then goes back down to the long term 32 - 34 but has never suddenly dropped below 30 like this (and yesterday there were few profiles that looked like transient ones - and those ones are still there today). So I would agree there was some specific and definite change made. How do you view these aged profiles? Or can't you view them any longer? If I deselect the "escorts" checkbox it just gets selected again when I press search. There's no filter to positively view "erotic content providers" (that I can see). So perhaps they have just purged or hidden idle profiles?

I had a specific hotlist for girls I fancied but hadn't logged in for a while ,all showed up as escorts until the last week , now all are erotic content providers, same on my already done hotlist .
