Natural Healthcare Pinner.
Website: External Link/Members OnlyA 7 hr flight from Canada, then a 2-hr drive from Gatwick, followed by a 4hr meeting took its toll on my body and senses. So my drive back from Watford I passed Pinner and saw Qi Natural Healthcare on the High St. So I parked the hired car in a parking lot across the road near a lovely wooded park, and walked to the location.
Location and setup: Qi Natural Healthcare is based on the main road near a bus stop. It is a Traditional Chinese Medicine place. There was no-one in the shop front. I opened the door and a wind chime rang as the door brushed the chimes. Out came a shortish, plumpish, elderly lady wearing a lab coat, from inside the place. She must be over 60 years old and very bad teeth. Spoke reasonable English.
What with the long flight, a tiring and stressful drive along the freeway M25, and then a tedious meeting, I really wanted a good solid massage.
I told her that I wanted an hour’s strong massage. She said I would have to wait for 10 minutes. So I said I will walk around and come back. She said no! no! no!. I check your health and gave me a form to fill in. I said I just want a massage and not any other treatment. She just handed me a pen and the form.
After filling in the form, she asked me to show her my tongue. Then she held my wrist and checked my pulse and took my blood pressure. I thought I had come to a wrong place. Lo behold! She says I have weak liver and kidneys so I need a course of acupuncture and herbal medicine. I thought what? I told her that I am flying back home to Canada in a couple of days and will not be able to undertake this prescription. By that time already 20 minutes had elapsed. I said if she did not have the masseuse I will go. She then guided me to one of rooms and told me to get ready.
The room was basic with a wooden massage table. It looked like it had seen its days. The décor was simple, and there was a sink in one corner, an electric heater, an infra-red lamp and a bedside type cabinet in one corner. The walls were quite thinish and I could hear a lady in the next room talking to a masseuse.
Service: I stripped naked and lay face down on the table. After a knock on the door a masseuse entered the room. She was rather size 12, height about 5ft 5ins, about 55 approaching 60. Not pretty facially. She was wearing blouse and a skirt, and heavy material pantyhose/leggings. I could not discern her bust size from the loose blouse she wore. Good English.
The masseuse, Aimee, confirmed that it was a one hour massage. She placed a towel/blanket over my naked butt. She said she was going to wash her hands and out she went. As soon as she was out of the door I heard the “doctor” shouting along the corridor. There were some angry arguments. I speak Chinese so I could understand that the “doctor” was angry and telling off a masseuse that she had not cleaned the room after her client. There was a lot of argument and shouting going on. After 5 mins (of my time gone) Aimee enters muttering something I could not understand.
Aimee started the massage with baby oil, at the top end of the table, on my neck/shoulders/upper back, and asked if it was firm enough. I confirmed. She said that there were too many knots in my shoulder area and started working into them. I could feel/hear the knots being manipulated. 2 mins into it and she said she would get some medicinal oil. So out she goes and returns with some oil. Pours it on my shoulder and upper back area. Boy! It was really strong smelling. She worked into my shoulder and upper back until I could not feel the knots. It felt a lot better.
Next she moved to the side and placed my arm in between her legs or rather held them by her thighs just above the knees (here goes I thinking there may be something here … wishful thinking) and massaged my upper arm, biceps and forearms. Not a spoken word all this time just massage. I tried to move my fingers/hand but to no available. The thighs were holding them firmly. Same treatment to the other hand/arm.
Next she moves to my lower back. Pulls the towel slightly lower and massages my boned area of the lower back. The massage was delivered superbly and expertly working on all the small muscles around the kidney areas.
Twenty minutes in, the “doctor” comes to the door and asks Aimee how it was going. She said OK but the doctor started telling her that I had refused acupuncture and other treatments. So Aimee replied that it was up to the patient. The next statement from the “doctor” really got me. She instructed Aimee to treat me like a “normal” massage. Aimee said OK and then muttered under breath in Chinese “I will not treat my customer like that”. This is when I spoke to her in Chinese and told her that I heard the conversation and understood what had transpired. She was shocked to hear me speaking Chinese and I think felt embarrassed. She asked me that was I ever in Fujian because my Chinese had the dialect from that region. I said I was there for 2 years. So we started conversing and had a lot to talk about whilst she massaged me.
One part of my brain was thinking “You idiot. You have lost the chance of anything special. The other was saying, now that a rapport has been created you are in with a chance.” Aimee massaged my thighs, legs, calves and feet, and did a really good job. Turn over time. The towel had never come off. It was expertly done to cover my nether regions.
On turning over Aimee put a pillow under my head. I could see the time on the clock hanging on the wall above my head. She massaged my head and neck area, and the temples. She then moved onto my chest and abdomen. All this time she was telling me about her and how she married an Englishman and came to the UK, etc.
About 35 mins in, the “doctor” comes to the door and starts moaning that (name – I do not know who she was talking about) had not turned up again and had left her to complete all the preparation of the herbal meds. Aimee stopped massaging and went out and told her that she wanted to finish my treatment as she had not had any lunch till then.
She came back and continued the massage, moving lower and lower along my abdomen. I could feel the buzzing in my groin area. So I pulled the towel off and laughingly, I said to her in Chinese “Look what you are doing to me”. She just laughed and said relax. Then came the bombshell.. “I am not that type of a girl. I give you a very good massage but nothing else. I respect my customers and I expect them to respect me.” I said I was only joking. She said, “No! no! no!. It is normal. I get asked many a times but I do not go into that sort of things.”
So saying that she restored the towel to its rightful place and continued the massage to my arms and legs.
At exactly 50 mins the “doctor’s” call came at the door. “Are you finishing yet? Your another client is here?” Aimee said “I still have 10 mins”. She looked agitated. At exactly 1 hour mark she said in English “Finished. Wait I do you cupping therapy”. I asked “How much will I have to pay for this therapy?” She said, “Nothing. I give it to you free”. Another 10 mins of cupping therapy ensued.
At the end she advised me not to take a shower as she had used the special oil.
I asked her what days is she there? She said she only does Pinner when they are short-staffed. Usually, she works in Lateonston??? in East London… (I don’t know if I have spelt the place correctly as I do not know of this place.)
Date: June 20, 2023
Duration: Total time spent: 70 mins (massage and cupping) + 25 minutes taken up by the “doctor” to up sell me other services, and disturbance.
Contact: Walked in.
Costs: £50 for 60 mins massage + free cupping therapy + £20 tip
Conclusion: Excellent massage from a very special lady. Very professional.
The only drawback was the disturbance and up sale from the “doctor” which I felt was not professional or ethical.
Back at the hotel I felt so tired that I lay on the bed and fell into a deep sleep until morning next day.
