Author Topic: Testing under an anonymous name  (Read 1003 times)

Hi everyone,

I've always gotten tested for STIs regularly mainly due to this hobby.

I've always done this under my real name but now with the NHS technological advances (eg. More NHS data being carried on my personal phone via the NHS app) and some changes in my personal life, I'm starting to reconsider whether I should do this under my real name.

Does anyone use false names  and addresses when getting tests done and if so, how easy is it to do that?

Thanks in advance

If using a false name, and if for some reason you have picked up a std, and require medication, which would be prescribed.   The only issue I might see, would be is there any law that would counter this, so making it impossible for the doctor to issue a prescription for medication

It's not a problem, I have done it. I give a false name and tell them I don't want to disclose my address. They just need a phone number to text you the results. They will also give you any medications you need.

I use the self-test kits from External Link/Members Only

£45 but there's no hanging around the clinic, just takes a few minutes to do. Only downside is that it only gives the result, not a treatment. If your samples come back +ve you'll still need to go to the clinic. Hopefully the tests are -ve in which case you have peace of mind fairly anonymously. (You still need to give delivery details and payment details but it's not on an NHS database).

Thanks everyone, will try it using a different name!

Have never tested positive so far so touch wood that continues (pun intended )

OP this important subject has been discussed at length numerous times,  did you not search the forum? To be fair Google would’ve given you the answer you needed too.

I searched testing in the search box and read through quite a few of the results. Most were regarding London and one did reference giving a false name but it was in regards to obtaining the test kit via delivery where as I'm looking to grab one from a clinic. Small difference but thought it was worth asking.
