With the Logan Montoya fiasco it makes sense to stay 'stealth' whilst punting which means staying anonymous....some of my tips are

1. Use a dedicared punting mobile with a PAYG sim
2. Use a different an email just for punting
3. Never give your real name or tell the wg where you work from or where you live

Not sure about how to book hotel like Jurys Inn, Holiday Inn, Raddison, Travel Lodge anonymous, sometimes the escort will want your room number and name your booked in

While I wouldn't want a girl knowing my surname I would not worry too much about being "exposed", thousands of punts happen day after day without any problems.

This lowlife trollop Logan Montoya is a one off, don't let her make you paranoid.    :hi:

4. Park round the corner out of sight from their place.
5. Have a prepared punting alibi (false name and job) that you can deliver confidently.
6. Hotels are indeed tricky until you know their system - I recommend in calls only if you need to be super anonymous.
7. Don't take any identifying information with you into the in call (smart phones, business cards, credit cards, driving licenses etc.) - I have a punting wallet basically with cash only in it.  Could even remove wedding rings etc.

Agree with JRC.
If you have a really unusual job, then best not to mention it of course. However, unless you actually happen to be the last working farrier in the City of London, and you actually live in the Tower of London, then vague details of what sort of thing you do and the rough area you live in aren't going to lead anyone to you.
Nobody could track me just using my name and profession, and millions of people live in East London.
Sensible precautions are just that - sensible - but don't let paranoia ruin punting for you.

I would be far more cautious if I were a famous politician or TV personality, but I am not, I am a pleb, and no one would be interested in the fact that I fuck pro$$ies.

My advice to anyone who is paranoid about being exposed is to find another hobby, maybe train spotting or knitting.

8. Buy a spiderman costume.
9. Only come through the windows.
10. After punt, take away your condom, just in case she want to check your DNA. You might find out you have a son 18 years later. :sarcastic:

Move the conversation on to them rather than being about you. You can have a bit of fun with it as some of them come out with some right shit, and once you start asking they get themselves tied in knots!!

I had one who claimed to be an air stewardess for BA, was flying to South Africa the following day...... :wackogirl:

More nonsense, Jimmy.

I'm also concerned about STI's so I take precautions. Does that mean I should take up train spotting or knitting too?

Just because you have nobody in your life who cares that you're a punter doesn't mean others are the same. We don't have to be famous to have fear of being outed.

Logon Montoya is not a one off. Care to remind us what happened to tonyofstoney? What was it parisb was doing on mumsnet? What happened to panel on here? What was that prossie trying to do to infoseeker just the other week? And what happened to you? You were outed, remember?

And if you think these reported cases are the only examples of it that have occurred then you are truly stupid.

It might be uncommon, but if it does happen then it will be disastrous for many of us. It only needs to happen once in our punting lives to destroy us.

I am sick of you making out people who take sensible precautions (parking round the corner, not revealing anything of their real world ID, using a punting phone) are paranoid fools. It may encourage some to not worry about anonymity. In my opinion it is you who is the fool  :hi:

Offline Daffodil

Anonymity is a serious concern for punters who have anything to lose. Even those who currently don't, may think differently in three months, six months, a year, or whatever.

And the great thing is that you don't have to do a lot to maintain it.

1) Don't give prossies your real name, not even your first name. As a real obvious example, if you bumped into an indiscreet one in the street, would you rather her call you by a fake name or your real name? Or text you by your real name? Much harder to deny you know her. There is no reason to give her your real name, so why do it?

2) Don't use your real mobile. Have a punting number. This means it is far easier to screen indiscreet prossies (turn the phone off). Also you may be surprised where your real number (and, subsequently, your contact details) can be found online.

3) Fake email. As above. There is little easier than getting a separate email. Your real email, as well as usually containing your real name, will be linked to you all over the internet.

4) There is nothing to gain from giving a prossie any real details about yourself. Why do it? They do pose an anonymity risk, however, even if small.

5) Don't take items with you that, if lost, could identify yourself. Why take your drivers licence with you? They can, and do, fall out of pockets.

6) Park round the corner. A number plate can identify you. Some prossies will try and blackmail you. If they have your plate they can say they will tell the cops you tried to rob them. The cops will be duty bound to turn up at your place. Again, it's unlikely, but you don't have to park right outside her place or where she tells you, so why do it?

7) If you plan to leave negatives about prossies you should take steps to ensure she doesn't link your face with your reviews. A woman scorned and all that.

The above advice, in my opinion, covers the basics. Following it does not ruin my punting. They are tiny precautions that take seconds of my time to accomplish. You are unlikely to encounter a truly malicious prossie, but it only takes one. You are also very likely to encounter plenty of daft ones who simply lack discretion.

Yep, i hope newbie punters reading this and who have anything in life to lose if they were outed as a punter take note of the sensible advice given to take precautions. Being careful ISNT paranoia in reality, its smart and MIGHT just prevent a punter getting caught out.

Only visit WGs in hotels they have booked, dont book them yourself is obviously a solution to that and what i do. A pre-pay credit card may be another option for those punters that do want Outcalls to their hotels but want to be as anonymous as possible.

I would suggest a punter is also brain dead if he uses his real name, his real email address, or his real mobile, and gets outed.

The fact is we likely only hear of a minority of the cases. Some prossies out punters on purpose, some do it by accident. The consequences of being outed can be huge.

Taking sensible precautions, as outlined above, is prudent and sensible. You belittling those who do is not helpful in the slightest  :hi:

1. Punting phone isnt a must but helpful to have and if you have a punting phone it must be payg. to those that are wondering why. its not that hard to for someone to find out your contract details and find your address. it s very easy to do so.

2. Booking hotels, there is no way around this, but this is when you gotta be extra careful of who you choose.

3. like someone mentioned. Never fucking park in front of a WG's house. Park a few roads away and walk. dont tell em you've driven, say you took a bus/train/taxi. iv hears stories of punters being blackmailed by whores saying i know what car you drive and ill find your address if you dont do this and that ect...

4. Depending on how well you know the WG, dont tell them any personal info like your work, family, children. No need.

5. Dont be a dumbass

I use my real first name as it's a common name. I'd probably say my real first name by mistake if I used a different name for punting. I'd probably use a different name for punting if my real first name was Tarquin or Marmaduke. :D

Hotels obviously have different policies but I have found it possible to book using my punting name as the guest name while using the details of my own credit card.
I say that I'm booking for someone who works for me.

You're not being paranoid. It is basic punter security not to give out your name. Just because nothing happened is irrelevant, if you fuck a prossie bareback there is a good chance you won't catch anything. Is that then evidence that it's ok to fuck prossies bareback? Of course it isn't. I could cross the road with my eyes closed and probably get away with it. Does that make it sensible?

At the very least by giving a prossie your full name means you will find it very hard to leave her a negative review or feedback. She has massive leverage and probably knows it. You try writing up an honest critique and the email will land in your inbox saying, "David Jones, would you mind having that feedback removed please?"

Even if the threat is empty (and don't count on it), will you really have the balls not to remove the review?

One of the main things I would suggest which from reading many topics on this issue surprisingly people never suggest.

But from reading those topics people say they make up a fake job/career, and from reading what people say as their career they often come up with something quite extravagant - as in a job where they would earn a lot of money and prestige for doing.

I would say definitely do not do this. Do the opposite. I would say come up with a meek job.

If someone asks what do you do for a living; I am a dustman, I am a cleaner. I am a Train ticket inspector. Something like this I would strongly recommend saying.

Read the Logan Montaya thread.

I doubt those people who were scammed, would have been scammed if they said they were call centre agents. Its stemming the route need for anonyminity.

The reason why anonyminity is important is because you could come across a girl who wants to mess you over because you gave her too much info.

By giving her info that makes her not even want to try is beneficial.

What will have happened with Logan Montoya is she will have been sitting around smoking pot with her el-scumbaggo boyfriend saying "you wont believe the type of people who come and see me, I have dentists, MPs, one of them is the director of a firm". And they will have devised up a way to extract money from them.

She is not going to be devising way to get money out of Mr Forklift driver.

I made the stupid mistake of linking AW to my work e-mail address a few years back, I was a newbie and didn't even think. It wasn't a problem until I left for pastures new and didn't think to change it, it took about a week for my old boss to contact me about 'certain delicate, very personal e-mails you have been receiving since I have had access to your e-mails'  :scare: I passed it off as junk mail I'd started to get a few months previously and couldn't stop/didn't know how to block and he seemed to accept this but lesson learned!

Not sure if anyone uses street walkers, a few years ago I picked one up did the deed and on our way back she casually said "look, I've got a problem, my pimp saw me getting into your car and has texted to say I need to bring bang £150 or he'll beat me up and pass your number plate to the police", now I was 99% certain she was bluffing to get more than the £20 I'd paid, but I couldn't be sure and so took her to a cash point and paid up (hoping Mrs HL wouldn't question the large withdrawel), in my mild panic I did manage to think 'not a bad story as it goes, appeals to my fear of getting caught/arrested/named and shamed in local paper etc but also tick the fluffy box just in case - never seen a SW since
