Edinburgh - AW Mail / non phone and text meets

Probably going to get told to just sort a phone out but I’ll ask the question anyway…

Has anyone in Edinburgh had any luck recently arranging a meet via the messaging on AW? Is it even a thing?

My punting phone died over lockdown and replacing it isn’t really an option without raising suspicion. I’ve tried sending a few messages etc but had no success. If anyone can point me in the direction of any SPs who take bookings entirely via AW it would be appreciated! Or has any other ideas in arranging a pint without a backup phone.

Sort a phone out

Surely you’re going to need a phone to get into buildings etc at booking times? Safer with a burner than using your regular phone? I use cheapest of the cheap PAYG burner. It’s a pain to text with but it won’t trip you up by linking online stuff to you that a smartphone potential might.

You maybe know all this but if you can afford a punt you can afford a cheapo phone.

Get a secomd whatsapp on your phone

Get a free sim and use that to register

Dump actual sim

You should be able to arrange via whatsapp. You will notice many of the sps are on whatdapp

Just dont expect last min meets. You will need more notice for whatsapp meets

As mentioned, although it's easy enough to arrange a punt via AW email, it's not an on the day type of thing, and you still need a phone to get into the venue. I've only once had a punt where it was all AW and it was a PITA, had to take my real phone in to get the door number by email.

Surely in Edinburgh the best option to punt without using a phone would be just to walk into one of the saunas?

Hiding the app is very easy
You can text and make calls through the app quite easily .

You must be in a really tight corner, if you can't replace a punting phone without raising suspicion, to me a cheap pay as you go punting phone is a must for security, and to save mistakes and accidents from happening. I would not want to risk in anyway, a connection between my punting life and my real life, and you read on here of people making mistakes and the connection being made, especially where Smart phones are concerned.

Those are my thoughts exactly. Wasn’t wanting to pi*s take the OP above, its about the safest easiest and cheapest routes but indeed I know nothing about the likes of the hushed app.

Appreciate the responses and also that nobody is slating me for asking the question! Will probably just do the obvious and pick up a phone but might also look into the app thing. Sounds like it’s asking for trouble though…

You just have to navigate what you think is best for you. Personally I think you'd be better to visit the sauna's when you get the urge. Hope you get a successful result in your explorations.

Never try and arrange a "whole" booking through  AW it's a fucking nightmare. There was a SP with me one time that wouldn't give a "work mobile number out". It all went thru AW emails, and she ended up cancelling anyway.

Cheap shite phone will do. Might take ages to type shit out, but that's it for me.

I'll tend need to not change the SIM on that, cause I'm not a dodgy cunt!
