A round trip of about 220 miles. Took a day off work too.  It was good and as expected a 2 hour booking extended to about 4 hrs, but the lady would have to be reaaaaally special to do it again!!!

Around 7 miles - To Gateshead. All by public transport. And I will say even for that it felt like a hike.

Max an hour each way if driving. If letting the train take the strain up to a max of 1.5 hrs. If the punt is crap it can add up to a half day wasted though. Wish something special appeared locally again.

Did 230 miles to Manchester, however I was there for other purposes for 4 days. Made the most of it with 2 punts a day at least.

And 1 bus a day from my village to nearest town & change to get to anywhere sizable, all day really to get there & back.

I did a search on AW, within 5 miles of my postcode there are 3 profiles, one is a bare backer, one is a munter and the last hasn't logged in for 3 months.

I need to go to Edinburgh for a punt, which means about a 60/70 mile round trip.  I usually try to tie it in with meetings or doing something else in town, rare that I'll just head out for the sole purpose of punting.

If I wasn't willing to travel approx an hour or more (dependant on where in town they are) then I wouldn't punt. Full stop.  So it's either jump in the car (public transport isn't an option) or I have a wank.

To London by train as there is fuck all around my area, so about 200 miles round trip which takes about 1.30 - 2 hours each way.. which is why I decided to book two hour punts!

So far about five miles (unless you count that I go into London, which is about thirty miles, but I have to go there anyway so not sure if it counts).

There is a girl I really would like to see up North, in Hull, it's would be an all day trip for me to go and I even went so far as to check costs and times etcetera ... but as of yet I haven't gone for it. Maybe I will one day.

I suppose it is one of those things where if it pays off, then you'd say 'great! Day well spent!' but if it was shit, you would really just regret the whole thing.
